I got a Puxing about 3mo ago and I have been more or less enjoying it. It's a PX-328.
The good:
Price $66 to my door. I don't have to worry about losing or breaking it so I use it a lot.
It does everything a modern radio should.
I can hit all the local repeaters.
I get good signal reports...
I second the thought of getting your self set up with the tools and know how to fix a bad flat, for a lot less space and weight and a better chance of sustaining multiple flats.
I use and recommend the following:

So efuentes, is FSR legal?
@ CanuckMariner, Unfortunately this is a family trip right before Christmas. We will be mostly traveling by pavement and only going down to some beach cabins and hanging out. It is my first time down there since I was a kid and I'm hoping it will be the first of many...
I am planning a trip into Mexico with about 4 or 5 vehicles. Are there any good options for vehicle to vehicle comms. I am a general class amateur but I understand that we do not share a reciprocal agreement with Mexico. What about CB or FSR? Anyone with experience down there?
Very nice. Thanks for the great write up.
I know it has been brought up, but I wounder if you could clarify how the corners work with your method. It looks like the welds are only on the inside of the tube leaving unsupported sheet extending across the face of the tube and terminating at the...

I ran a pair of #8 (it was what I had) wires from direct connections at the battery to inside the cab. The Positive side has a 40A breaker 2" from the battery to protect it from a short, but could not think of any reason to do the same with the negative side. They connect to a distribution hub...
I have also wondered this... Radio guys tend to do it and many radios come with fuse holders in both lines so I'm guessing there is a solid reason.
My guess is that there is a possibility of the signal received on the antenna generated power that could be shorted to case ground if something was...
A 2 meter setup that will give ranges like 150miles give or take can be had for less than $200 new with the radio, antenna, and coax plus any wiring do-dads.
I set my first one up with a used Alinco 1900 that I picked up from a local guy for $20. Another guy at the club have a spare antenna...
I would just like to thank everyone for engaging in a lively discussion without letting it deteriorate to the level of a pair of seven year olds. While it is not on topic it has been useful and fun. It's a credit to this forum and perhaps to amateur radio in general. On many other forums I'm...
