    Hey atlib, The plan is to go kayaking this year, visititing Vancouver Island. So unfurtunally there will be not time and money left this year to go to Iceland in summer. I think we will be there next year again....

    I would get a HDJ 80, they are very cheap in the UK, just get the gaskets, bearings and the birfields done...and go. You can easily up grade while travelling the US. with a possibilitiy to sleep inside and a roof tent you should be fine and save money you can spend travelling...

    you get aluminium boxes like Zarges Boxes? many different seizes and standards are possible :sunny: looks more like an expedition rig and is tougher than the normal modern roundish f/g cargo boxes (you notice how much I like those :yikes: )
