I have been thinking of these spare tire jerry cans as well (to keep engine oil or gas for the cooker), but even in Germany they are quite expensive and more importend they are to small to fit a 16" rim nicely. I would prefere plasitc as well because of weight and to spare the alloy rim when...

our shackles are aproved for an operating load 10.000kg, never had a problem ...even using kinetik ropes. Befor I had smaller ones with 5.000kg, I just used two...

We use Dyneema rope as well on our MM for self recovery. A spare rope ist perfekt but breakages can even be spliced or just knotted. The main advantage is safty and weight! We use Dyneema rope for that reason for the shackles too, I haven´t seen them mentioned so far. (and they are easy...

you can buy all the stuff to build your own electic box using the Danfoss compressor. Advantage is to be able to shape the box as required... you can use that box with ice as well if you don´t want to use electicity :elkgrin:

Sorry, I don´t know very much about Unimogs...but as far as I noticed you have to build your own to get sufficient travel ability... I agree best base would be a 416 or 1300 maybe with more power and less weight though high/split gears (wich make it heavy again...)....and a lot of other...
