What´s the problem with the Jeep

I like me some Heep. More specifically any of the 91'+ YJ or XJ models. The things will take one hell of a beating and keep on tru-.. er, Jeepin'. :ylsmoke: Reliable, easy to work on, and fairly inexpensive to maintain as far as 4wd vehicles go. I have rebuilt my transmission in a friend's...

What do you store OUTSIDE of your vehicle?

Jerry cans, action packer boxes with gear, and coolers. I would keep the recovery gear inside to protect it from the elements if at all possible. -Jake

    DIY Window tint

Been wanting to do this to the hard top on my Jeep. It gets as hot as the Devil's ******** in there during summer! :Wow1: There happens to be lots of those tint "shacks" in parking lots around town. I'm sure tempted to give one a shot one of these days. -Jake

    Crazy Food From Your Travels

I really can't top what has already been mentioned :) I had some cooked Octopus from a greek fisherman once while on an island off the coast of Greece. I say cooked because I'm not sure how it was prepared, but the skin had turned a red color so it was grilled in one fasion or another. Tasted...

Question on Leaky Dana 44 Wheel Seals

This is verry possible, but have you changed the fluid lately? Did this leak suddenly occur after you had done something or has it been leaking fluid since the get go? I ask because lots of seals that start with dino oil in them later leak when you add synthetic lube later on during regular...

    Driving slow on fast freeways?

Same boat here. I drive my brick on wheels to the Smokys every fall and get the best mileage between 60-65mph while on the interstate (The best is actually at about 50-55mph). Now, I know that the limit is 70mph but it's even lower for semi trucks. So, I generally try to get behind one that's...

High court strikes down Chicago handgun ban

We went over this in a law class today. Basically, it just told the state and local governments that they have to follow Supreme Court case law (Heller) and stop being idiots. The decision affects them too, not just D.C. Although, the ban is still in place and the mayor is going to do...

    Vibram Five Fingers

I tried on a pair at the local vendor and they actually felt great. I liked being able to feel and grip terrain with my feet instead of just standing on it. (Does that make sense?) I was able to curl my toes around rocks and tree branches and I could feel a difference in the muscles used in my...

    Post your Camp Awnings

Made one this weekend from 2 adjustable tent poles, an 8x10 tarp, some paracord and tent stakes. I have $32 invested in the awning thus far and love being able to get out of the sun while camping, grilling, beaching, and working on things while on the trail. :smiley_drive: -Jake

Question regarding carrying 1lb Propane tanks

So from what I've read here most folks just secure them in the back with the rest of their gear and the 1lb. cans are built to allow for expansion when exposed to heat, so all is safe? I was given a 2 burner grill as a gift a few days ago and will begin to start carrying it as well as 1 or 2 of...
