    New Bronco

It's a double edged sword. One side is people will use it's capability to do more damage, the other side is that nothing does more damage to a trail than a large group of rookie 2wd overlanders and open diffs and POS rides. Might actually be better for trails since only the fully locked...

    New Defender Rage/Hate Thread

I daily drive a Ram 3500 DRW that weighs 13,000#. I think I'll be able to manage. I can still outfit a Subaru Outback for ya'll. Tons of poise. Oring tires are extra though.

    2019 Honda CRF 450L

For a lifted F250, I use a 12' long aluminum folding ramp. It's cake. I walk right next to my sport bike as it idles up the ramp. 3 Dirtbikes fit just fine. Two bikes is more optimal because of the size of my ramp. The ramp needs to be strapped well to keep from eating nicer bikes...

    New Defender Rage/Hate Thread

What's your load out for 10 days? An RTT, winch, rack, and my camp gear total is under 1000# easy. Maybe ya'll should lose the 50# Transformer Autobot stoves.

Looking for a good Creeper - recommendations?

Card board and shoulder blades. Never adjusted to creepers. But I'd love one of the laydown over the engine creeper things:

    Why no Ram 1500 Builds!

There's nothing wrong with coils if the rear links are stout enough, and the coils are strong enough. So far, they haven't been. It'll take a thousand years for pickup manufacturers to figure it out. You could remove the airbag on a semi truck and toss a coil right in. It would work fine...

Hemi Wrangler or Gladiator or both?

Maybe that was the idea. Marketing, forcing FCA to put something nicer than a broken minivan engine into a Wrangler.

Do Full Sized Vehicles Make Good Overland Cars?

Loose wet soil. Gravel and sand are cake for a fullsize. If the ground is solid, and they fit, they climb as well as anything. Heavy can't float without huge tires. Swamps hidden under solid looking grass are the fullsize's worst enemy.

Experience of Daily driving a Ram HD on 37s+ with small lift

250/2500's are derated to 10k# GVWR to stay class 2b for cheaper insurance, cheaper plates, cheaper tolls, and to please HOA's for people living in commie lands. They're generally for people that max out half tons, or break the skinny drivetrains in half tons. They usually get softer rear...

Hemi Wrangler or Gladiator or both?

With the Ecoboost in the Bronco, Jeep needs to act now. That's way more engine than the Bronco needs. Really don't need a V8. But if it fits, ok, why not. Oh, and you'll need a manual transmission option for it. .......actually screw that. Offer ONLY the manual trans with it. That...

    Why no Ram 1500 Builds!

Because of the 2500, F250, Tundra, and F150. If you're building, with overlanding in mind, it's rare to pick out a Ram 1500 or GM 1500. Usually those guys buy the truck first, and discover overlanding second.

    GMT800 2500 - Wide tires & broken pitman arm

Those tires look fine to me. Are there any aftermarket arms? Pitman arms are garbage on all American trucks right now. Likely made at the same vendor. Major source of death wobble. Being that it's an old fashioned hunk of cast iron, this happening consistently across all three brands is...

Experience of Daily driving a Ram HD on 37s+ with small lift

I'd skip the bed steps, and just learn to walk up the rear tires. The rest depends on alignment, installer competence, and tire selection. But both of those options that you listed are great, and there's people running each here.

    My RAM/Lance 650 Adventure(s)

Sure will. But an overlandy camper and some recovery gear ain't going to make the gas engine break a sweat in the least. Unless you're still drag racing,....which we're not. I did encounter an on ramp today that my Cummins was slower than my old 6.2 gas work truck, significantly. It's...

F550 gear change -- which one?

I drove a stock F550 7.3 DRW with little DRW tires. It had 4.56 gears and did fine. So that would put me firmly in the 5.13+ camp. Stick to your plan. Sounds like you have it figured out well. I don't think 4.88 will be nice, but may be acceptable. Don't fear the gear.

    Gauging Interest

For an example: A friend of mine has an excellent, and dirt cheap Ramcharger that we're all envious of. Every time a part failed, it was improved. One ton locked axles, stroker long block, better radiator, short headers, were all eventually added, one after another. Another friend wanted to...

    Gauging Interest

Please also include blue collar guys making nice overlanders using newish trucks on a tight budget as well. Sometimes payments on a new Rubicon is better than constant repairs on an olde 4runner. I'd love to overland in a classic 1986 f350 with a 460. But I only get to overland one week at...

    Trailer go BOOM BOOM

.........or he set the gas leak. Lol. Like the old guy on the fordtruckforum that ''parked under a tree during a thunder storm to protect the truck from hail.'' Truck and tree were hit by lightning and burnt to a crisp.

    New Defender Rage/Hate Thread

Is that a Cherokee? I'll bet that a Suby would waste it. Especially if the Subaru'ers all have butch haircuts. Extra points for color. Subaru is a ton better than a Dodge Nitro.........and that minivan sure looks a bit like a Dodge Nitro. Not a Cherokee or a jeep:

    Trailer go BOOM BOOM

Just grab a whole tail gate from a yard somewhere. Generally meth dealers can get you any tailgate color you want. Because getting that plastic top piece to stay on is a nightmare, even with an oem piece. You wanted a Warn bumper anyways.
