    Very Built 2001 Toyota Tundra

My intension was to put two racing seats in the front and one in the back, but never got around to it. I already picked up a factory center console from a Tundra that came with bucket seats in the same color as my interior. Since it's got a 60/40 bench seat up front and still has the center...

    Very Built 2001 Toyota Tundra

It's got 105k miles on it and has recently had the timing belt, water pump, serpetine belt, & pulleys changed with all factory Toyota parts. New tires and low miles on the drive train. Will cruise down the interstate at 75 MPH comfortably, cold A/C, cruise works, speedometer is dead on, etc. I...

    HDPE plastic

My boat-sides are 1/8" dimple die steel backing plates with 1/2" UHMW skids and they've taken a beating for the past 3 years with no problem at all. I've had the entire weight of the truck land hard on them against rocks and all I ever get are superficial scratches on the UHMW. It's all that...

    Ultimate Vehicle Fire Extinguisher

I'm running a 2.5 lb. Halon (H3r MaxOut) mounted on my cage inside with a Poly Performance quick release mount and a 5 lb. ABC mounted on my cage inside (both within arms reach from either front seat occupant), and a 2.5 lb. ABC mounted with quick fist clamps out in the bed -...

    Supercharger or regear?

IMO a SC would be a bandaid for the real problem, you don't currently have proper gearing...... Get the truck geared correctly for the size tires you're running first, then if you decide you want more power, add a SC afterwards. And, the lower gears are going to help you off-road a lot more...

    Petersons Ultimate Adventure Tundra

I decided to add a new air pressure gauge in the cab so I could monitor the OBA system. I went ahead and took pictures of the entire system so I would have all the info in one place. New Autometer gauge - ARB mini compressor and air distribution header - Viair 1-gal receiver tank...

    FUll-Size Spare or Not?

I also carry one of those black rubber bungy cords, they work great for large emergency plugs to get you off the trail if you cut a sidewall and don't have a good solid base to jack your rig up and change the tire. Just cut to length and apply adhesive.

FJC Long Travel Build: 3Link Rear w/ Coilovers, Camburg, and more

The issue was that when people would flat tow their rigs the front reduction unit wouldn't get proper lubrication and it would trash the bearings, so they added an oil pump to the 4-speeds so they can now be safely flat towed. I bought my 4-speed in 2009 when they first came out and it now has...

    FUll-Size Spare or Not?

I never leave home without a full-size spare and have needed it on several occasions a long way from home. Also have three air sources, patch/plug kit, tire irons, and an emergency inner tube.

FJC Long Travel Build: 3Link Rear w/ Coilovers, Camburg, and more

Very nice! I'll be using this thread for reference when I start building my other half's FJ in the near future. There's no way I'd take a Stak over an Atlas.......hell......those no way I'd take a Stak period. I have several friends with Staks and they've had nothing but problems out of...

    !!!! Attention tundra owners!!! Rocksliders

Having built and thoroughly tested different styles of sliders on my truck, I would recommend square or rectangular tubing for the main runner under the pinch weld and also for the tie-backs to the frame. Then come off the main runner with round DOM to form the outer portion of the sliders. My...

    Question: Tacoma normal water temp?

That is weird on the differences in the jiggle valve location, seems like with that regard an engine is an engine....but who knows. It hit 91 F yesterday and with the A/C on, my truck was running it's old 184 F normal and high of 186 F, like it did the 9 yrs prior to me changing out the t-stat...

    Question: Tacoma normal water temp?

As an experiment, I installed a Stant 170 F t-stat over the weekend and so far it's been running 180-183 F now. It's going to get hot again later this week, then we'll see what the temp runs, but so far it's definitely pointing toward the factory t-stat being a little off on temperature. The...
