Well, after 2 yrs my Hushpower HP-2 muffler had lost most of its "hush" and was starting to get on my nerves. So I decided to go to the opposite end of the spectrum and see just how quiet I could make the old Tundra.
I opted for a Spintech #8331 muffler and decided to also put a resonator back...
I put a very slight (2") leveling kit and differential drop kit that I picked up from Fat Bob's Garage on the '08 Tundra. The pictures don't really do it justice because it basically looks level when sitting in a level parking lot.
Don't mind that dented white piece of junk in the background...
Sorry, I didn't fully read your original post and thought you were referring to dual batteries under the hood. That's what I ran under the hood between my two Optimas.
But they do make heavy duty welding lead plugs and battery charger plugs...
Thanks.
So far so good, they have delivered as advertised both on the road and in the mud, the jury is still out in rocky conditions and snow, but judging from the thickness of the sidewalls I think they will deliver in the rocks also......fingers are still crossed for possibly finding that...
Great write up, I wish I would take to time to document half the stuff I do to my truck :)!
Just to throw out another option for people -
I've been using an Abbott Enterprises ERA calibration unit for the past eight years or so and have had to recalibrate due to gear and/or tire size changes...
Search for member name "dyogim" on this site, he holds the answer to your question ;).
Edit: As a matter of fact.....since I'm such a nice guy, check this thread for the info :) - http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=26829
Really? That's the first I've ever heard of that, mines been plugged in for about 3 yrs with no problems. I only energize the winch when I plan on using it though. I rode with Warn reps and engineers while on the Ultimate Adventures and they never said anything about it, as a matter of fact...
Back to 37's, just put on some new Hankooks on the '01 this weekend. Also Put some 275/70R18 BFG T/A KO's on the '08 Tundra last week and will be installing a leveling kit this coming weekend -
Mine's not very pretty, but it works. I'm using a Warn wireless remote system, but also added a second plug that's mounted by the front bumper on the drivers side so somebody can operate the hand-held factory remote from outside the vehicle.
The solenoid pack is between my primary battery and...
I bought a disconnect for my winch years ago from West Marine, it's always worked well for me and was fairly inexpensive. You can kind of see it with the red dial next to my primary battery...
The only reason I sold the Toyo's was because I got a set of 37" KM2's as part of the BFG sponsorship for the 2008 Ultimate Adventure. Then I sold the KM2's because I got a set of MT/R's for the 2009 UA sponsorship. I sold the MT/R's as soon as I got home and put the 40" KM2's on it.
I'm not...
You may want to take a look at Wabfab. I've been running his Hi-Lift slider adapter for years and it's been an asset for sure.

The very first set of rock sliders that I ever built for my truck were this exact design. I used 1/4" plate to back the slider mounting plates and used 3/8" grade 8 bolts to fasten them. They held up to years of abuse.
Pssst....you may want to let BFG know that they need to correct their website....those silly people refer to the KM2's as "Mud-Terrain T/A® KM2" ;).
Then they have the nerve to call these other tires they have "Baja T/A's" and even claim that their "Krawlers" are specifically designed for "rock...
In my particular case I'm going to say yes, even more so.
With my "C" rated 40" KM2's and a 6,800# truck, I air them down to 20 psig and I can almost make the rims touch rocks in technical spots. With my old Toyo's that were "E" rated, I was able to air them down to 10 psig and they still had...
