The right answer is whatever works for YOU.
My xj flexes just fine. If I want to push harder trails I won't be fully loaded so I can dump air. Otherwise the bags work great for the trails I do while exploring.
Gotta disagree on this one. Do the full comparison between like-like impacts, snap-on vs Milwaukee (including price point) and snap on prices itself out of the game.
Sadly, they (Snap-on) as well as other "pro" tools are simply successful branding sold for silly mark ups out of a fancy truck...
As an addendum to my post... keep your eyes peeled on Craigslist. I scored my impact from a guy that said it was a Christmas present. Got a screaming deal on a new in box impact and 2 new batteries.
I'll buy the drill and small impact when it goes on sale. That'll give me 4 batteries, 3 tools...
Not like it sounds as if you're in need of ideas but your thread made me think of the old Military Gama-goats. Weird... that's me. But after seeing the boxy design and knowing these won't be light weights, it gave me an odd thought.
What if the trailer ambo had an available PTO driven...
I've used Dewalt battery stuff for decades. That being said I recently picked up a milwaukee M18fuel impact gun after being impressed by the one belonging to a buddy of mine. Impressed enough that as my current herd of dewalt tools die off (happening fairly quickly now but I use em hard) I will...
Being that the jeep community (worldwide) seems to be blessed with honestly good people I thought I'd toss this out there.
I mentioned a fella I've emailed with who lives in the Basque region and is a jeeper.
His name is Aitor, screen name of black beast, and you could probably find him here...
So I was shuffling stuff around storage the other day and forget I had a handful of things I got from government liquidation. Not sure why it made me think of your build but...*shrugs*
So question 1 is: Are you planning to run AC in the FC?
2: think you'd want one of these oddities and see if it...
Subscribed for future pyrenees pics! (And your interesting design ideas!)
Being told growing up our family name is Basque, and that they hail from the pyrenees I'm excited to see your trip. I've talked to a guy in that region that has a jeepster commando and his pics were breathtaking. I'm sure...
Ok folks. This is the last week I'm going to hope for a buyer. By next weekend I'll add it to the packing plan and it'll go with me. Don't be shy...you know you want this. :)

^@ elliot and @ Aaron...
The issue with that is it puts the weight on the factory hatch hinges. I don't believe they are up to it.

Yeah.. the geometry is gonna be the butt kicker. Thankfully math isn't my strong point. Haha. I'm sure there will be a lot of trial and error on this. Sadly it may get mothballed for a bit when we move next month. But I'll keep working on ideas if it turns out to be too tough a nut to crack.
If you're referring to my lift up idea, thanks. It's going to be challenging to say the least. My thought is to find a way to use a garage door torsion spring to provide the strength needed to raise the spare tire with the hatch. Hopefully I can design it for one handed operation which is sorta...
