    2005 Suburban Expedition Vehicle.

I have a Defender rack, it is expensive but well made. Pics in my build thread linked in my sig. I got one that matched the dimensions of the factory roof rack itself, instead of the one recommended by Defender for my truck which I think was 4' x 8'. The one I bought was made for a Jeep if...

    2002 Tahoe "Expedition" build

Update on latest work Thanks guys for the kind words. I also was surprised to see that my thread has hit 100K + views, very surprising to me and I appreciate those who have taken time to visit, read, and comment. Thanks folks! Anyway, I figured I would update my thread on the latest goings on...

Ball joint advice - 95 Tahoe

Another vote for Moog parts. And definitely take care of the tie rods, pitman arm, and do both the idler arm and idler arm bracket. I think you may be surprised at how much better your rig will handle once all that is replaced. I just had to replace the idler arm on my Tahoe @ 90K and figured I...

    What years? Suburban and Tahoe

Greetings FJ Heart. Personally, I would recommend nothing newer than the 2006 body style, since the 2007 + trucks went to full wrap around plastic on the entire body. 2006 and below still have proper bumpers front and rear. But, if you are ok with that style then shop away. I would get a...

Adult w/ vehicle ADD- Excursion vs 3/4T '88 Burb- need an intervention pls!!

Both the Excursion and the Suburban look to be perfectly capable of your proposed uses. But, I would cast a vote for the Suburban for the cheaper and easier to find parts, especially if you go South. By the way, I am most jealous of the statement "We average a coast to coast trip 1 to...

    2002 Tahoe "Expedition" build

Thanks much. The black dog is from the Czech Republic, and the saddle pattern is a rescue from Mid Atlantic German Shepherd Rescue of unknown lineage. There is something not GSD somewhere in her past, but we love her anyway. Thanks, the K9 screen is a Havis Shield Product. I got mine second...

    Surplus K5 m1009 CUCV build

On my current vehicle I added some roll on dyna-mat type material (sticky on one side, reflective topside) under the factory matting and noticed a bit of improvement. I also added some of the same stuff to the inside of my work truck (2011 Tahoe SSV) at strategic places and noticed a big change...

Lets see your full size Chevy!!!

I am kinda late to the game, here are a few of my 2002 Tahoe. Outer Banks NC Greenridge State Forest MD Flagpole Knob, George Washington National Forest, Virginia Grand Canyon North Rim, Arizona Just a few of my favorite pics from about 4 years worth of wandering about the country when...

    Surplus K5 m1009 CUCV build

Nifty rig, I have always liked military vehicles. One suggestion I may have for you would be to add some kind of sound deadening material to the inside. I had a Bronco years ago that had an interior identical to your Blazer (as in, just about none) and the noise could be rather annoying most of...

    2002 Tahoe "Expedition" build

No it is just a standard LT version roof rack. That is all this rig started as, a run of the mill soccer mom special LT. I got extra long hose clamps, painted them black, and then covered about 6" of them with heat shrink tubing, and and then attached the rack to the side rails using the hose...

    2002 Tahoe "Expedition" build

Thanks for the compliments, they are sincerely appreciated. The rack is just attached to the factory roof rack, to include the factory cross bars. So far it has held up just fine, to include carrying two kayaks on extended trips. The rack is primarily secured to the side bars (main...

Trailblazer Build Daily Driver & Overlanding

You do not need to do things any better, you do great work! I am quite impressed at the mods you have done to this Trailblazer. Nice job. Thanks for sharing the pics from Sweden, it is nice to see photos from overseas. Happy wheeling.

    2001 Suburban K2500 - Summer Camping & Winter Commuting

The 2003 - 2006 NBS speedometers were notorious for going mental case (like showing 60 MPH while sitting still in traffic) and there were some problems with the other interior electronics. I had read of the D.I.C. gizmo acting up as well. If you have not had any problems, then perhaps you got a...

    2001 Suburban K2500 - Summer Camping & Winter Commuting

Nice rig and great idea on the improvised camp table. If I would do it again, I would get a Suburban, they are great trucks. Good choice on the year of vehicle as the 2003 - 06 NBS had electric gremlins that could drive you crazy.

Who is gonna be in line to buy one of these?

I certainly don't have, nor ever will, 6 figures worth of $$ to throw into a vehicle but it sure is a cool concept! Thanks for posting it up.

    Silverado's Thread

VERY nice rig. Me like! Your battery tie downs are pretty cool looking. Where did you get your rock sliders from? I like how close they fit on the body. Nice job on the air system, the only thing I would change on it would be to put the air outlet chuck somewhere so you don't have to reach under...

    2002 Tahoe "Expedition" build

Update new mods Been awhile since I have had time to tinker with the truck and actually use it for the intended purpose. Which recently I finally got to do. But, first up- The Goodridge lines were about an inch longer and have no issues with stretching. The rear E cable was left as is, never...

    Teck's o' noma (pic heavy)

Nice build you have going there. I do love the comment regarding underestimating COLD on July 4th for camping. I would LOVE to have that problem! ! ! Nice job using the Blazer tire carrier too. Keep up the good work.
