Where people get into handling trouble is putting too narrow of a tire on too wide of a rim. Sure, 235/85 is a great size, but not on an 8" rim. Also, I think wider tires feel better in off camber situations with a top heavy vehicle.

I don't know of a truly all around tire. It is all about compromise and priorities. That said, I have been quite pleased with the Goodyear MT/R Kevlar tires.

I'm intrigued by this as a Frontier is one of the vehicles I'm considering and the front diff issue gives me reason to look at a Toyota instead. I had a WD21 Pathfinder at it was a great truck, but the new Nissan's don't seem to be built to the same level.
