    gen 3 monty/pajero engine rpm´s

The Dual Mass flywheels in the 3.2 diesels seem to be fond of breaking and causing the owners lots of expense, see if you can get one that has had the solid mass conversion. And like what was said above, the powerband in a diesel is from 1800 to 3500 rpm,so cruising is best at between 1800 and...

And if you want to replace them with LEDs you use these fellas here,I did that a few years ago and never had to worry about the fillament lamps blowing again...

    Gauge disassemble.

I stuck a boost gauge into where my altimeter was. The altimeter was no use what so ever, especially here where the weather was changing every hour. All I did was take apart the cluster, removed the altimeter part, used a hole saw to make a hole big enough in the clear plastic that makes up the...

    Montero Gen 2.5 LED Speedometer

The UK pajero owners club sell them, but i think it's only for the diesels. I think it's a company called lockwood make them so you could look into it perhaps. And the dimmer still works with mine

    Tires used on Top Gear

The ones on that episode were kingpins, they are a retread simex copy, far cheaper. Along with insa turbo special track, malatesta kaimans, fedima sirocco among others. I have a set of similar ones on mine as muds,Crazy grip in mud. But on the road they sound like a plane with a prop!

The Life and Times of my Pajero

Small world! I'm from Waterford county. There's a good scene after emerging here in the last couple of years thanks to a few forums. Theres everything from the tame to the extreme. The Life and Times of my Pajero

They are Silverstone extremes. A cross/bias ply When they start spinning you know you're stuck! The front slam panel is different between the round headlamp ones and the normal ones. But it could always be done! They are generally on the JDM SWBs,the irish model swb has square ones. The JDM...

The Life and Times of my Pajero

Soon I whipped off the side steps as they were not being used. Next I decided to make some under bonnet lighting using some LED strips i bought for a college project but never used. A very handy mod. Took her offroad then,it was 1000 times better with the lift and the tyres, but the standard...

The Life and Times of my Pajero

I got my Pajero in december 2009. It's a 2.8 diesel automatic (:() Jap import. I spent about 2 months hunting for the right one, most of them were a bit shabby and were showing their age,but this one was mechanically sound, even though it wasn't the most aesthetically pleasing. I was looking for a...

How to convert to LED turn signals and brake lights for Gen 2 Montero

Very good! Although people with cruise control may find that the cruise control doesn't work with LED brake lights. I'd say the the cruise control is grounded through the brake lights. I've found that those led replacements don't last too long, and it's usually the build quality that lets them...

    Truck needs a new antennae

I got one of them little amplified ones that you stick on the windscreen of the truck and connect one side to a switched live, cost me €20. I had managed to bust a rubber one off a few tree branches it's like this one, with no fear of it getting broken off anything or damaged...

Show me your Storage/Sleeping set ups for Mk 2 Montero/Pajero

This is mine,You would comfortably sleep a few midgets on it,and the top opens so you can put your midgets in it when you're done with them :) and without the artificial grass effect carpet I'm thinking of making a bit that folds forward to where the drivers seat goes when it's fully...

Second Gen Montero Sway bar quick disconnects

The blue one in the pic has no shocks which is what gives it the extra articulation, they are the main restricting factor. I took my rear anti roll bar off in january, took a few days to get used to the slight difference in cornering, and now it doesn't seem any different to me. You won't get more...

Why They're Sold as Monteros in Spain

I was talking to a spanish student in my class about this,he said it was more a a slang term for it that isn't used much any more,a bit like the word tosser. Thats why when you google pajero you don't get a load of pictures of people beating their meat :Wow1: Mine came out the factory as a...

New Gen 2.5 Member - Lots of Questions...

The A/T's are my "road" tyres,The roads round my direction are in pretty bad shape and generally twisty so it could be why I didn't get too much out of the Falkens. I still have them on now,but they won't see me to the end of the summer. I've found over the same terrain the BFGs will self clean...

New Gen 2.5 Member - Lots of Questions...

I wouldn't recommend them at all TBH. I've had them on mine since summer 09,and without doing any big milage they have worn down most of the way. They aren't anywhere as good in mud as the BFG at,the Falkens fill up quickly. Still an OK tyre with good road manners though

Engine Bay Specifications (Future Diesel Swap), Engine swap Questions.

I have the 4M40 in mine. I think it's a fantastic engine, pulls well from 1500 rpm to above 3500. I've modded the on boost fuel pressure and turned up the boost (these are both free mods, just takes a few hours) . Those combined with a free flowing air filter and a stainless exhaust means that the...
