What does it achieve without it? That was my point. It adds nothing in mpg or range. It does add low end torque below 18 mph (which is when it shuts off), so it is not totally useless.
The 27 mpg number is not official and the web page has been updated ("Fuel economy estimates will be announced...
Problem with the hybrid is not fear, but they do not offer anything useful. No increase in range or MPG. But they are a added failure point and in the case of the Sequoia, they take up a lot of cargo space.
This was my first choice and was hoping to upgrade from my 21 Sequoia.
But the lack of cargo space and the unneeded battery system made it a non-starter. Fortunately the GX550 is what I was hoping the TRD/PRO would be.
Pretty much anything beats them IME. Fast wear, poor traction other than packed dirt, etc . Old design hopefully the upcoming KO3 will be significantly better.
For the US market, it is not. An LX300 would have been the "follow-on" or "come-back". This is a re-badge.
Does not take anything away from this. Just set your expectation accordingly. If you want a LC300, get an LX600.

There are many states that will enforce their own laws on your out of state vehicle. Virginia is one of the worst for this - window tint, exhaust, and lift all come to mind and have seen many ticketed. NC & NJ too. Texas too will enforce Texas laws on South of the Border POS cars.
On the other...
I got mine on sale at Overland Expo East. Fits behind seat, no travel trailer required. Yes, the faucet is a creature comfort, not needed as you can use the pump or just pour it.
