    FS: (5) BFG KM2 255/85R16 - only 3,000 miles, 95% tread

Wanted to give an update on this - we're here in South Sudan for another two weeks; I should be back in the States on August 9th and will contact you (Rovertrader) over that weekend or on Monday, August 12th to get these on their way to you. Apologies for the delay. From not-very-good wifi at...

    1911 or Glock

Travel a ton internationally (45 international flights per year), but carry a 1911 in every situation that allows/warrants it. Have had many 1911's (4", 5", long slide, race guns, .38s, etc.) and I'd say "carry what you know"... if you're a Glock person, carry a Glock. If you're a 1911 person...

    The AR-15

I've owned various AR's for years but, for some reason, I always end up taking the FAL over the AR. In the end, I've probably fired twice as many rounds from my FAL (a 16" barrel DSA SA58 metric rifle built on their Steyr machinery about ten years ago) than from all my AR's combined. And...

    2nd gen tacoma reliability

Wouldn't literally trust my life to it in Africa if it weren't reliable. Had a normally-aspirated FJ Cruiser with the 4.0L 1GR-FE, now have a Taco with the supercharged 4.0L 1GR-FE. Great trucks, bulletproof reliability.

Air tank to replace spare tire?

To clarify, this is simply for on-board air, not instead of a spare. I always carry a 36" spare (to match the other tires), but it isn't in the stock location, so that location is empty/available.

Air tank to replace spare tire?

Curious why no manufacturer seems to build this. Seems like a no-brainer since many have empty space there and would rather have a tank than a larger or heavy duty cycle compressor. But I figure there must be a reason this isn't on the market... or maybe I just don't know about it. Wouldn't...

Show us your Toyota 4runner, tacoma or truck.

A pic on Lake Shore Drive in Chicago before being shipped back to the Continent. The last time you'll see her wearing KM2's.

Amoured Toyota Land cruiser in UK

Likely an MoD Jankel conversion used in South Sudan. The Brits seemed to bring down a whole bunch of non-white LCs for some reason... probably just brought whatever LHD units they had in inventory.

    FS: (5) BFG KM2 255/85R16 - only 3,000 miles, 95% tread

Here are recent pics (taken yesterday) of the tires. As soon as I get back to the States I'll have them dismounted and headed toward Rovertrader (or if Rovertrader doesn't want them, then tank87 and if tank87 doesn't want them, then dreammachine). Tread depth (about the same on all tires, this...

Thanks James/tank87... you're first in line behind Rovertrader. :)

Transafrica with a Land Cruiser 200 (Diesel)

We'll be in Mali next week... we'll be sure to wave if we see a white 200. :)

    255/100/16 interested?

Given that the Michelin XZL is more than twice that if bought new ($600-$800 per tire in 255/100R16), I'd question why you're wanting to manufacture these or thinking you can do it at a reasonable price. There is already a firm in China that makes a copy of the XZL that has most of the...

    FS: (5) BFG KM2 255/85R16 - only 3,000 miles, 95% tread

Perfect. Thanks, Dale - your name's on them, so to speak. I'll reach out in July as soon as I'm back in the States and we can arrange payment/shipping at that time. Sorry I can't ship them sooner! :( But I promise I'll ship them ASAP once I get back to the States in July! :)

    FS: (5) BFG KM2 255/85R16 - only 3,000 miles, 95% tread

Tires have only been used for 3,000 miles, nearly all of it on soft dirt roads. Tires look nearly brand new. Have been used for travel from point A to point B, not for rock crawling, etc. and no sidewall damage or punctures. $650 for five tires. Notes: Wheels are not included. Buyer must...

Gears & Tires: What are you running and how satisfied are you?

Running 4.88 gears on a 2012 Tacoma 4WD 6SPD 4.0 S/C with 36.5" diameter (actual diameter) tires. I'd say I'm pretty satisfied with it... but I'm never at the speeds (50+ mph) you guys are often at.

Hard to find five Michelin XZL's (or five XML's) in 9.00R16...

Funny you mention the KM2 in 255/85R16; it's what I'm running currently. It performs well, but I prefer the Michelins for a bunch of reasons. I am actually ordering them to be sent to the US, if you're interested. See my post in fireside chat.

80 series guys; question about these buttons (JDM)

They work even on 80's here in Uganda that have not been serviced since they day they left Japan. Wonderful feature.
