If anyone with a dually gets a set, please post up some photo's or a least thoughts on fitment. I'd rather have tall and skinny to avoid spacers but sounds like these are shorter and wider than I'd like. The KM2's are great size wise but would like something a little less aggressive, quieter...
Grew up with compact pick up. I started with a 83 toyota once I could drive. Got out of collage and bought a brand new 93 Reg cab F150 4x4. A few years later a 97 reg cab F250 powerstroke 4x4. Then family came along and got a 00 F350 crew cab diesel 4x4 that I still have. I'd never go back...
The example I gave has happened to me personally. It has happened to another person I know. I have a defective product and when I let those "like minded" people know about it...the letters started. Quite nasty too... Even sent letters to my work. I was more than ready for the suit but it has...
FWIW - Going online doesn't always work to get issues resolved by railing on a manufacturer. Some manufacturers have the audacity to get lawyers involved, send out "cease and desist" letters to claim a person is slandering them, and will threaten to take a person to court. It's happened even...
Looks like more of a base camp idea. Haul it to where you're going, drop it off, and explore from there. Or maybe if you had some property in the middle of nowhere and could leave it there for an extended period of time. Definitely not anything I'd want to haul around like a truck camper.
I'd start with the relay. I've replaced mine 3 times in the 10 years I've owned it. Napa #GPR109. I know guys that short across the studs on the relay with a screw driver in a pinch. For giggles I started mine yesterday morning at 16deg just to see if it would start. Fired right up without...
Another vote for a DRW. There is a noticeable difference vs a SRW. Yeah, you can get 19.5 wheels but you'll likely pay more for 4 than 6 normal tires. The only tracking issue I've had is when on a rutted paved road at freeway speeds. The *** end wants to stay in the rut. I take mine well of...
I'm running 265/75-16 C's on my 05 explorer. They seemed squishy to me too but at first. That was 8K miles and 8 months ago. I've found I like 40lbs+ of air in them as that stiffen's the ride up a bit and I'm getting better mpgs. My Explorer is 4800lbs with minimal load so more air is better...
I wonder what the offset on dually wheels are? I have about 3/4" on mine. I tow a 9K lb boat and now have the FWC and mine don't even come close to each other. FWIW, I was going to go to 285's with 2" spacers until I found out that all of the local tire shops wont even touch a truck with them...
FWIW - If you run a dually like I do, the 255 is the tallest tire you can run without spacers in the rear. A lot of the 255's are D rated. There is only 2 that are E rated, Toyo MT's and BFG KM2's which is what I have. I hope they keep making them otherwise I'll be looking for 17" rims and...
