I like the TR F17, but there’s no grill protection. That’s why I wanted a new bumper. The Expedition One doesn’t sit too proud and doesn’t weigh a ton. Their powder coating bothers some, but I had it coated locally. ??

Same happened to me. I was interested in Liquid Spring and a bumper. Insert cricket emoji here. Ended up with a Carli Pintop and an Expedition One bumper.

SuperCabs open beyond 90°. If you replace your bed and add a camper, that’s a bad combo. A little wind can bash your back door. Ford makes a kit that my dealer didn’t even know about that’ll lock them at 90°. It’s an easy install as long as you have torx sockets. Pics below.

Apparently, according to the fabricator I was speaking with, there’s more liability. Dunno otherwise.

Thanks! I‘m not sure yet on the fab. I didn’t realize that it is as complicated as it is. The design and fab are straight forward, but if you redo the tire carrier, apparently you need some sort of certification. More info to follow.

I’ve got a flatbed too, plus it’s 8’ replacing a 6.75’ factory bed. As a result, the receiver is recessed. For less than a Trophy Hitch, I’ll be able to have a unit fabricated to accommodate 37s (even though I run 35s), get the hitch out where it belongs (albeit higher), but most importantly...

I really like OEV. The porta potty was a deal breaker though. If you’re looking Milner, they don‘t have that option, so the Camp-X is solid competition.

My FWC turnbuckles were the worst! ? I ended up putting in super thick zip ties because they loosened after driving a block. I missed the CO show. Hallmark ended up not getting a booth. Brent invited me, but I did the Lost Coast with my son instead. ?

It has that function. According to Brent though, the primary purpose of the L track is to beef up the structure for attaching to the frame.

It‘s very camper dependent. Where the mounting parts are, don’t necessarily correspond to the frame. On mine there are 4 doors inside the upper boxes. The allow access to the head of the bolts. Underneath, those bolts go through to nuts welded to 1/4” 4x6” plates. It’s very secure.

I do! ? Apparently it’s not hard to steal, but few want to. A major worldwide bed manufacture came to look at mine in Flagstaff. As he put it, “There’s no way I’m building that! It’s too complicated!”

That looks like Jason’s truck. It doesn’t carry a camper. All of them have that track. It has something to do with mounting the bed to the frame and adds utility when a camper is off. Mine bolts through and is held underneath with four 4”x6” plates.
