OFFICIAL: Jeep JL User's Guide and Owner's Manual Released!! With pics!

That's one huge reason why I got rid of my '13 JK and went back to a CJ. I was almost stranded by an electronic failure in the JK. I ended up having to "re-boot" the Jeep to make it out...disconnected the battery and reconnected after about a minute. There's something wrong with having to...

    Jeep Pick-up for 2018

There won't be a 2018 JT. While you may see "concepts" at shows, they are supposed to debut as a 2019 model with production starting in October of 2018.

    ArkPak questions

Ah...ok. The previous version was the 620. I think the main differences are in the capacity of the inverter and the capability to use LiFePO4 batteries. The 715 and 730 went on sale in August of 2015. The OP indicated his was the 730, so he should not be getting the battery selection screen...

    Wrangler pickup will be JT

While there will certainly be comparisons of the upcoming Jeep pickup to a real Jeep Scrambler (fewer than 28,000 produced from 1981-85), the folks at JeepScramblerForum appear to have erroneously placed the name on the new vehicle. I couldn't find a true Scrambler anywhere on their site...

    ArkPak questions

Interesting. Aside from being inconvenient, it sounds like a malfunction. I never see that screen unless I have disconnected the battery. I've seen that screen twice...when I installed the initial Odyssey battery, and again when I installed the new LiFePO4 battery. According to the ArkPak...

    ArkPak questions

When you first install a battery, it will ask you what type of battery and, I believe, the amp hour rating. You will need to select battery type and rating. After that, it should not request that info again unless the battery is disconnected.

Ark Pak - Questions and Queries

Glad to hear ArkPak is still around. I mispoke (miswrote?) when I called the Battle Born battery Lithium Ion...it is Lithium Iron (not ion) Phosphate...or LiFePO4. The question I tried to get answered by ArkPak tech support was whether or not it was normal for the fan in the ArkPak to be...

Ark Pak - Questions and Queries

I emailed ArkPak with a question about 2 weeks ago...never got a reply. Perhaps they are going out of business. If not, their customer service truly sucks.

Goal Zero Yeti 400 Lithium & Boulder 100 Watt Solar Panel

Your ArkPak apparently needs to go on a diet. What kind of battery are you using in it? I've been using an ArkPak for nearly 2 years and it has never weighed 100 pounds. I use a 100Ah lithium battery from Battle Born in the ArkPak. It weighs 29 pounds...and provides nearly 3 times the power...

    Decisions on a 12v fridge

I've been using the ArkPak for almost 2 years...but it has never weighed 100 pounds. I use a 100Ah Lithium battery in it. It provides nearly 3X the power of the Yeti 400 Lithium...and it only weighs 29 pounds.

    Decisions on a 12v fridge

I've had a couple of Waeco's (Dometic), a Fridgefreeze, and an ARB. All have performed perfectly for years. I wouldn't hesitate to buy the same brands again. The only reason I switched fridges was for size or fitment constraints in different vehicle setups. My first Waeco purchased 15 years...

Ever find yourself in a remote area when camera run out of battery------MEET THE PAK

The Kalisaya is not designed to power a fridge. It's only 38Ah. Depending on your setting and external temperatures, your fridge might last 15 hours with the Kalisaya. According to the Kalisaya rep: "The KaliPAK specializes in powering cellphones, lights, laptops, HAM radions (sic), cameras...

The Maze at Canyonlands: Pilgrimage to the Doll House

Nice report. The Maze has always been one of my favorite places on the planet...but I haven't been over there for quite a few years. I've hiked into the Doll House from Spanish Bottom on the river and from above...and have visited the Harvest Scene a few times. In the early 80's, I could...

Ark Pak - Questions and Queries

For one, the Firefly battery will not fit in the ArkPak. And second, the primary reason I went with the Lithium battery was weight. The Battle Born 100ah battery is 29 lbs. The Firefly battery is 74 pounds. No thanks. I have now seen 2 companies selling sub-$1000 100ah Lithium batteries.

Ark Pak - Questions and Queries

I looked at them, but they are sticking to 2-year-old pricing. Their 100ah battery is $400 more than the Battle Born 100ah battery...$1299 vs $899.

Ark Pak - Questions and Queries

The Battle Born battery fits perfectly in the ArkPak...almost like the ArkPak was designed for it. The ArkPak cables need to be tucked into the indentation in the lid of the enclosure in order to latch the lid. The previous Odyssey battery that I had in the ArkPak had a lot of room to bounce...

    Tips for Overland/Offroad Drone Photography?

I applaud the Canadian government...somewhat. Those rules are similar to restrictions for FAA-certified commercial pilots in the U.S. Maximum altitude is 400 feet. The aircraft MUST remain within visual line of sight...FPV does not meet that requirement. We cannot fly directly over any...

    Tips for Overland/Offroad Drone Photography?

Very serious...as everyone should be. I live near 2 national parks where rangers respond almost daily (sometimes multiple times a day) to complaints of some obnoxious jerk flying a drone where it should not be flown. Until they develop a completely silent drone (and require some type of...

Goal Zero Yeti 400 VS KaliPAK 601

https://battlebornbatteries.com/shop/12v-lifepo4-deep-cycle-battery/ It has internal BMS with high/low temp shutoffs and high/low voltage shutoffs and cell balancing. And I seriously doubt that you will find a group 31 standard battery with more "usable" capacity.
