I don't think it's fanboy ignorance, at least that's not how I read this thread, many are just not familiar with our HD pickups. I've ignored @IdaSHO for months now but I'm sure he had some color commentary on the subject. For their size, LC70's are awesome and overbuilt and you could argue...

HD US pickups have significantly higher GVWR and Payload capacities than LC's....no argument there, models vary, but you can easily get a common domestic truck with payload 2x+ of any LC70 before stepping up to the "Heavy" HD trucks like the 450x/550x trucks which are 5,000KG+. It's a...

I read Tom Sheppards book - I was surprised, he always preferred a cot outside by his truck, light, simple, 2 minutes up and down: Sometimes I feel like we've made life so complicated, Tom had zero stuff on outside of truck, 265/75 (32") tires, fuel cans inside, cot + bag, small easy to eat...

We have full size HD pickups that can haul much more than the LC's so myself, along with many others, don't see the point of Toyota offering a small HD pickup from a business perspective. A 70 would be cool, no doubt, they are small, overbuilt and would be great for offroading, but for...

The 4.2 is still the straight 6 as far as I know. I do know in some markets you can get the 1GR in Landcruisers which is the same engine we get here in the states which is a 4.0 V6. Aren't all 70's 5 bolt wheels?

The clear up confusion - we have the mid size trucks like the Tacoma, which is a lighter duty version of the Hilux but very sim....then we have full size trucks in two flavors, light duty "consumer" daily driver types (150/1500) then the "commercial" types (250/350/2500/3500). The commercial...

Lexus GX550 Overtrail vs. Grenadier or new Toyota Land Cruiser?

It is....always find stuff like that funny, it's prestigious I guess....kinda like "champagne, ruby or emerald" instead of white, red or green....

We want the 'black', I think it's called caviar.

thats my point when you can do something like this with a 3/4-1T domestic:

Serious question - what does that offer that a 3/4 to 1T truck doesn't, at least here in the US? I see he's sleeping in a tent, you could have a rig very sim to that with a pop top 4W camper + utility bed with storage + 37's. I still like @ramblinChet setup - but transition to a utility / flat...

Lexus GX550 Overtrail vs. Grenadier or new Toyota Land Cruiser?

Let us know what you think - we have a Overtrail on "Order", they keep calling us offering rigs but none are the right color.

Boggles my mind about the shop manuals....are they available yet? Presumably the shops have them.

    Mexican 1000

Out of curiosity - what were the symptoms around the no start? Sounds like if you are suggesting it was fuel related it was turning over but wouldn't fire? What did you try to get it going again? Just wondering how easy or hard some of the workarounds were, drain tank, fuel filter access...

    IG: Detailed Axle Spec Information

There was a vid posted in another post about axle specs.....he called the rear axle a "Full Floater" but it's a bit different than what I've traditionally seen, anybody familiar with this setup? Looks like the axle floats but is not accessible with wheel on, it mates to the hub via studs behind...

    Apparently it's beefy...

Surprising he didn't mic the axle shafts, he had them out, that would of been the most interesting measurement in the entire video. Axles tube diameter are just below what a D60 is, I believe those are 3.5" but not word of what the actual R&P size is. What confused me is the comment about FF...

2024 Land Cruiser in the USA?

It should also come with upgraded rear axle like the GX550 is getting, for all intents and purposes the LC250 = 4Runner which is very much a deviation from historical practice of the LC being built heavier duty than the 4runner/Prado. What we effectively have now is a "Landcruiser"...
