Not true, we now know they are not the same base, the LC is more closely related to the 4R.....

That's been my concern all along - based on what we know now, there are no/minimal mechanical differences and 'seems' like it's simply a cachet tread (to use your words which was great!). I'd buy a 4runner if we are objectively/quantitatively looking at the the two vehicles and as your data...

Sounds like it has sim. (or the same) drivetrain components...

Thanks for the link - this summed it up well unfortunately and what I was fearing all along for the last few months.....it's a Prado/GX460 replacement not a "Landcruiser" replacement. It's why I also respect the heck out of the IH8mud community they get to the bottom of this stuff and respect...

It's unfortunate IMO - but those IH8mud folks are always on point. Wish we could get some of the same conversations started with the Grenadier - they are out and we still have zero specs on mechanical systems.

On a rig that old / unknown maint. history you could easily be $3-5k to baseline assuming nothing major, cruisers are not cheap, especially if using OEM

I think it's the newer diesels, specifically the high pressure fuel pumps, that get wrecked with gas on the newer rigs.

Gaia has a lot of historical maps also, going back to the 1930's in some areas. I also find the Gaia "Private Property" map to be very useful, especially when I am looking into routes in/around BLM land. It's hard to say where easements are until you get feet on the ground, but you can at...

Much much more difficult than BDR route - I wouldn't say this is "FUN" in the traditional sense...the BDR route sounds like real fun :)
