Ah reminds me of my trips down there waaaay back in the 90’s. Good times then and still looks like good times! I was frequently surprised the water would be cooler like 5-8 degrees from my home break in north san diego county.
Have fun!
Another upvote for Thuren kings. Ive had the 2.5’s in my 06 for probably 10 years. My truck hauls/works hard almost everyday. I adjusted the valving abit from where he had them set(I added more rebound dampening). Ive rebuilt the rears a couple times(the shafts get knicked and tear seals when...
To start off Im not a fan of Raptors, trds, aevs, and powerwagons.(basically most oem ‘offroad packages’, except rubicon jeeps)
I’d get a regular 2500 ram and spend the savings on quality suspension from Carli/Thuren and some decent tires.
If lockers are that important to you doesn’t arb make...
Wow! Ive seen a few of those but never considered one due to availability. I dont need to carry that many passengers, possibly trim that cab down.
What kind of speed can they cruise at?
Thanks
Chris
Very cool build! Youve thought about the pros/cons of that platform and size.
I dont know much about the skoolie world, but what keeps them from falling apart when they get all twisted up on offroady roads? Theres no subframe for the habitat. Im sure that long frame has to twist.

Can you clarify for me, you've got Dana 60's front and rear? The front is on OEM leafs??? But the larger tires fit, and the Cummins ain't squatting them?? The rear is a 4 link with coils...
This is an awesome rig, out of my rage. But if you wouldn't mind answering a couple questions? How large is the pass through? and what air ride seats did you put in the cab? Seems like head height can be an issue with these cabs and air ride seats if your a taller driver???
Thanks
Chris
I can't speak for your exact truck, but when I inquired with Tulsa about converting a k270 to 4x4, they were spec'ing it with a Marmon Herrington MVG-750 two speed transfer case. Ultimately I think that will be too big of a truck for our needs, but I'm really liking what your putting together...
We're researching chassis for our next camper build which will carry a Total Composites habitat box. Ive found through other manufacturers(Ram) where and how large of a hole can be cut on the back of their cabs. I've located the body builders guide for Isuzu https://www.isuzutruckservice.com but...
