Not too much around here- we have been to Colorado a few times on the trails near Silverton, Telluride, Buena Vista, etc. We hit the back roads when we can tho- what have you gotten into?
Thanks guys- CBI sure can make bumpers. It's coming together but it's never really finished, is it? I put some Doug Thorley long tube headers on it yesterday as well- really woke it up midrange. It feels like a rocket with that supercharger!
I finally got some pics. They are driveway shots again- working a lot lately! The bumpers turned out great I think. No issues with the install other than that mentioned. They are bulletproof! Here you go...
I've got a YJ that I put Raingler netting in and I knew they made custom stuff so I had them make some molle shelves for our SMB. Were gonna have some molle wall panels made as well. Here's some pics:
Some thoughts..
If you want to do it correctly, most will purchase aftermarket upper control arms (Total Chaos, Camburg, etc) for the front to allow better alignment. Also, most will purchase a one piece drive shaft (ex: Tom Woods) to eliminate vibrations. Coilovers with resi shocks are better...
For what it's worth I ran the 885's on my Tacoma dc and they sagged enough to warrant 886's. They were stiffer but the ride is still good. No heavy front bumper yet but that should help. (CBI's at the powdercoaters)
I originally had the 885's but they sagged too much. The ride is somewhat stiffer but not bad at all- no sag at all for ~2 years. The weight of my CBI bumper will soften it.
Thanks! I have a full OME lift, 886's up front and a Dakar leaf pack in the rear with an extra leaf. Shocks match. IMO the OME is ideal for low maintenance, high quality, solid 3" with weight for offroad lift. The wheels are ATX Artilleries with 285/70/17 KM2 BFG.
The CBI bumpers are at the powdercoaters so I should have them on by next week sometime- I can't wait. In the meantime I picked up a 2011 colormatched grille and decals for a change...
What's more is that Softopper sells a rack system that will work with their tops if you want to go that route. I thought seriously about them too but went with a Snugtop instead.
I was asked how the track was mounted to the shell so...
It's a proprietary track that was cut to length and bolted to the top (I cut the track a tad too short!)
The nets are made by a company called "Raingler". We are extremely happy with how they turned out- so much so that I've called them with plans for additional netting in other areas of our SMB. They make cargo netting for jeeps mostly but can do custom stuff obviously. Very high quality and well...
