    OzTent Microfast Kt-2

Kevin, the tent is great. During a long weekend trip last year it rain just about everyday and we encountered some high winds too. No only did the tent stay dry inside it perform well in the wind. Due to a lack of attention when pitching the tent at night, the pool of water I found between...

You can buy with confidence from Kevin. I purchased my Microfast tent from him a couple of years ago via a sale on MUD. Great service and fast shipping.

    Snakes

It certainly was and it was one of the largest ones I've encountered. I wanted to place something near it for reference before taking the photo, but the snake was in a cranky mood. We both decided to admire it from a short distance.

    Snakes

Don't mess with venomous snakes. I nearly stepped on this nice Copperhead during a night field exercise last year. Myself and another instructor were moving fast along a trail and not paying too much attention to what was immediately in front of us.

    Snorkel for 3rd Gen

Well I never thought of them as being "fruity." I have the site bookmarked on my home PC, I can get it later tonight.

    Snorkel for 3rd Gen

The install on my '01 was pretty straightforward using a stock Taco intake tube. I didn't have to rotate the power antenna motor and it still functions properly.

    knives

You'll get many different answers, just like asking what types of boots folks wear. That said, I pack garden shears, my USAF survival knife from the 80's and a small Gerber. All of which are cheap enough that I wouldn't lament over them should I loose one.

    Steel Wheels Vs Aluminum Wheels

+1 for Wheelers. I added a set of the Black Steelies - Type B. I've always had great service from them.

    Backup/reverse lights: thoughts?

I wired up a pair of Hella 550s a buddy of mine wasn't using on the back of the rack. I don't have them wired to come on when I'm in reverse, instead I wired them seperately and mainly use them for scene lighting and setting up camp at night.

killer arb bumper hi lift mount

I did something similar with mine. Have you checked to see that you can open and raise your hood with the Hi-Lift bolted to the front bumper yet? My first configuration didn't work and I had to make some changes to allow for me to open the hood.

    Tires

I went through tire issues myself back in December to replace my Goodyear MT/Rs. After reading a number of threads, my picks were either the Coopers or BFG AT T/A KOs. I ended up with the T/A KOs in 285/75/16. Big difference from the MT/Rs, quieter and smoother on the roads and they handle...

    SAR Vehicle Must-Haves..

I'm assuming you're using your '08 Nissan Frontier. Is this truck stock or have modified the suspension, added new tires and etc to increase its offroad capabilities?

    Montauk Meet 'n Greet!

I grew up in Sag Harbor, NY. We've spent countless days and nights surfcasting below the Lighthouse or driving along the ocean from the Shinnecock Inlet through the Hamptons and out to Montauk following schools of Bluefish and Striped Bass. Sounds like you all enjoyed your trip out. I'll be...

    Water bladder maintenance

I've got several and use a CamelBack Cleaning Kit. This kit allows the bladder to be hung upside-down for drying. Does a great job. I've ruined a few by not being so diligent in cleaning them, such as when I've had Gatorade in them. The sugar or sugar-substitute promotes mold/mildew growth...

    Snorkel for 3rd Gen

The Safari snorkels made for the Taco can be installed in a 3rd Gen 4runner. However, since the snorkel is designed for a 3.4L Taco, you'll need to replace your stock 4Runner air intake tube with one from a Taco. I believe the part number is still 53807-35020.

Welcome aboard and Nice rack. Would it be possible for you to provide some close up pics of the front mounts and how you connected them to your roof? Thanks.
