Where do you live with that kind of greed and tax burden? No way my dealer in Georgia would get a $10k markup to fly.

    Garmin Overlander

After rereading all nine pages and double checking my inventory of old, obsolete, gps devices I've decided not to throw any more money at Garmin. I have Garmin models GPS II+, GPS III+, 2610, and Monterra, a Magellan Roadmate, and a Lowrance Baja 490. Of all of them my favorite is/was the...

The 90 reminds me a lot of the 2 door Range Rover which to this day is one of my favorite all time vehicles. But the Range Rover had a lot more interior space behind the rear seat! At least with the floating panel delete the rear passengers can see out.

The 4 cylinders have 4.11 differential gears while the six has 3.55 gearing so top speed is affected but off road ability should be enhanced. Plus the MHEV system on the six adds a lot of complication. That's why I decided to order a P300. It's still rated to go over 110 mph.

    Android tablet recommendation

Anybody tried a Galaxy Tab Active 2 - 8" tablet with Gaia or other navigation apps? I'm not real happy with Garmin right now and even though it's expensive it's still a lot cheaper than the Garmin Overlander.

But not as tall - doesn't look like a washing machine or dryer will still fit upright like in the old Defender and Discovery... One more reason to hate the new truck!

A new owner in England posted some nice pics of his Fuji White D240 110 - since there haven't been a lot of pics of white ones yet I thought I'd share. He has the 18" alloys with all terrain tires on this truck - same wheels that I have on my build.

4 cam Carreras have always been desirable and expensive. A one of one car with the history of this one should have sold for over $600k, especially with a fresh restoration. Unfortunately it didn't but I still did ok considering I paid $1100 for it in 1971.

My longest lasting project was this one - 1971-2018, bought it when I was 19 years old and spent 12 years doing a total restoration on it. Its one reason I can afford a new Defender.

Yeah I bought a Peugeot 504 once for $125 because I hadn't owned a Peugeot before. It supposedly had an electrical issue causing it not to run. Well if you can call a rod through the side of the block underneath the exhaust manifold an electrical problem.... I sold the nearly new tires and...

And there is where experience comes in... which sometimes you get by diving in when you really shouldn't. I've bought many projects where once you get them home you realize it's a lot more work than you anticipated and you're not in love with it - or some other shiny bauble comes along that's...

The D1, D2, Range Rover Classics and Defenders were all on 16" wheels. Early Series trucks were on 16's as well, later US market 88" Land Rovers were sold here with 15" wheels in order to meet US bumper height regulations.

If you are looking to buy a new Rover diesel I think you are going to be out of luck. According to my sources at LRNA diesels are off the table for the US market for the foreseeable future. They have already withdrawn the Ingenium diesel powered Jags and Evoque and the 2020 Discovery 5 and RRS...

If it runs, I drive it. The advantage of having multiple cars is you can jump in whatever is the most fun for that particular trip. There were a few that I never got to drive because something shinier, more interesting or more desirable popped up. I had an MGA roadster project that I bought from...
