Ok now I come to a pucker moment. We are turning the drivers side rear cabinet into the wet bath (dry toilet ). I have to cut a door into the inside. Once I make the 1st cut there is no going back [emoji849][emoji51]
So a couple of questions for the knowledgeable masses. I was planning on using...
The ice maker can be used in place but when we hit the beach in Mexico it will probably be put beside the sink. Our current dilemma is do we go with a full size blender or the bullet type or a margarita machine :) . What a first world problem.
Final got to work on my own truck. Minor progress!
The essentials are in. This is where the evaporator and heater unit usually sits in the box. I have all my electrical on the back wall (but I can see the breakers) including generator transfer switch, breaker board and solar regulated. Plus a...
I have a Skottle and also a 24” disk. Had the 24” disk first and went and paid full retail for the skottle as the whole package is complete. We cook (well actually the missus) cooks for a bunch of people at a time and we had no hassles with the skottle.
The 24” disk now sits on our deck full...
Also check for big fuses. All the medium duty rigs I have worked on had a string of ANL fuses. The one that comes from the converter does not go through the main isolator switch. Also they have all had the batteries as a single bank and not separate house and engine batteries.
The big hole MRAP (the ones for the Axletech axles) wheels are hub centric but still have the same issue with the backspacing.
You also have to be careful with the bead profile.
I paid $500 for mine 30 + years ago. It has at least 1000 nights in it. 50 cents per night seems cheap to me.
Also I believe this question comes down to travel style. I you are traveling rather than camping then the ease of setup is invaluable. If you are camping and setting up for multiple...
Having bounced around a lot of crappy places in both cab over and engine forward trucks I will take the engine forward anytime. All the cab over does is give you a longer cabin for the overall length at the expense of a very uncomfortable ride (axle under your ******** tends to act like a pile...
Definitely the C7 over the 3126 but without any emissions stuff if you can legally do so where you live.
But I am with Joaquin on making it a Cummins. ISX, ISL or ISM with a 3060 Allison and a real transfer case (T600 axletech or if you need to have an overdrive the 1138 Rockwell). The engine...
40 years of legal road riding on 6 continents. No thought of totally giving up but I have consciously reduced my road exposure and changed my motorcycles over the past few years. Now it’s a big touring bike (R1200RT) for long distance work. TW200 and F650CS for the back of the camper or around...
That support is a totally crap design. Why would they put a solid brace across between 2 rubber mounted objects. The van body is still isolated from the chassis by rubber body mounts on a SMB I believe. By running that brace from the bumper (direct chassis mount) to the hinge (body mount) they...
I have found that it is best to wait for either the middle of summer or a week before you absolutely need the truck to start these types of projects. [emoji848]
They did have an issue with the oil pressure senders on that engine. Cummins fix was to replace the sender with a switch and reflash the ECU to show a set pressure. I did track down a different Cummins part that fits and does not require a reflash. But that low oil pressure will put it into limp...
There are 3 fuses that come directly off the battery. Check those 1st. Also you should be able to check for error codes on the dash pane. It sounds like you are in limp mode. Is there a check engine light on at all?
I just read an article in the UK complaining that the car manufacturers are concerned they will not meet their carbon reduction targets because they are not selling enough diesel small cars.

Yep MRAP axles, wheels, transfer case and drive shafts. Nice package. When I get back from the UK I will take a photo showing those wheels up against Big Red (also the little 43” ones)
