Not sure what wattage or how it works. I grabbed the one that was the right size and cheap to make it look like a real RV for the inspection. It has never been powered up. I think it is 900 Watts. The one in Old Yella was about the same size and ran OK on the 1800w Vanner inverter so I figure...
Finally trimmed out the inverter cupboard and finished off the wiring. Now we have a place to setup the microwave and the 2 coffee machines as well as hide all the 110 stuff and the solar regulator away. I did put a lock box in under the inverter for holding our vehicle papers etc so the vent...
I sold that rig years ago. But we did run it around the Southwest. The tires worked well for everything we needed but don’t air down well. Sidewalls were stiff enough that 75 on the pavement was a pleasure except for the whine of the tires. Seemed to be a pitch that was just unpleasant to my...
If you search my threads there is one called something “new shoes for a fat pig”. It details my conversion to 19.5” singles.
But if you are trying to work out how to get the front back to where it was and it is the old 8 lug pattern (not the newer super duty pattern) you can get the hub...
I like that idea and then I tell the missus. She mutters something about hoping I like Mexican jails for when the Federales don’t share my sense of humor.
That is an option. It looks like I can get 22.5 super singles in the wheel stud pattern that fits my axles. Only downside is $$$$, gearing and not being able to air them right down when I am stuck in the sand. Better mileage, wear, availability and noise level though.
Being it is so expensive...
Looks like I may have to move the axle back to fit the tires I want on there. If I can sneak about 1 - 1 1/2” it will eliminate cutting into the main door frame.
We are looking at 20 gal potable and about 50 “fresh” with 30 gray. Like you we will not have black water. If I can fit more fresh water capacity in it would be ideal but it is a tossup between an extra diesel tank or an extra water tank.
Hmmm that’s strange. It just ripped through both the red trucks and didn’t leave any residue. When I used a heat gun it left a heap of crap behind that was a pain to remove even with gasoline, thinners, 3M label remover, brake cleaner etc.
Whizzy wheel is without a doubt the best method. Seriously consider putting the job off until you have a couple of those in your hands. This is based on my experience on 5 ambulances. Wish someone would of told me about it for the first couple.
I am suspect about using marine ply and fiberglass. In my experience it doesn’t save significant weight and the downside for maintenance is too high. What about using a steel frame and aluminum sheet with Sikaflex adhesive to join the 2. That is what some of the main structure of the ambulance...
Tried the hammock over the top of the bed. Didn’t work for us but that was trying to sleep 3 in the back. There is a thread I started on here somewhere.
That 1st BMW with a single side swing arm on the leading link front end is something special. I wonder if the sidecar runs the same wheel.
The amount of rake on the blue BMW is interesting too. I bet it is stable on the straights and a pig in the corners.
But these are some great examples. I...
It is much better but I still want more out of it. There are still some fuel flow/pressure tests to be done and then it will be time for the dyno to see if there is a problem or if I am expecting too much out of a 20,000# rig.
Page 45 for me on this thread.

There is a guy on here that grafted a hard shell rooftop tent onto his ambulance to gain both a sleeping area and headroom. Might be something to consider. The guys username is Abitibi or something like that. Page 45 onwards on my phone...
