Need backspacing guidance from the pro`s...

My only reservation to narrower ~11" is deep snow performance as floatation is key. Otherwise a narrow tire like that would be great for me. There are a lot of threads and info supporting pizza cutters here. With a 265/75 I would say the 5" wheels would be perfect but if you plan to step up to...

Need backspacing guidance from the pro`s...

4.5" will tuck with minimal trimming as long as you bump stop appropriately. I run 35"s with these wheels and 5.5" lift with the factory flares minimally trimmed. I went from 3.75" bs to these and it handles much better both on the highway and trail. 5" might work well as well if not better...

iPhone vs Droid for gps/navigation purposes

The time has come where my Blackberry wont even make it through a single phone call. Have been trying to wait for the iPhone5 but am now rethinking the decision. For phone quality and ease of use I have been leaning toward the iPhone but I am really interested in using it for mapping and...

    to Diesel or not to???

Have nothing as far as diesel advice but unless there are more than one version of the 727 (other than bellhousings etc) I wouldnt worry about its strength, Those trannies were in almost all dodge light trucks, vans and even class A motorhomes untill the 90s. Have always heard the general...

    XJ modular sleeping platform?

Having given this much thought over the years a few things to consider. up to a 33" spare will fit flat in the cargo area with the rear seat in place and still allow room for the hilift and even some extra axle shafts if you carry them. Up to a 31" will fit in the factory location. I am far...

What is wrong with this picture? - warning, possibly offensive content

What is wrong with this picture? He doesnt have an Expedition Portal sticker? And I say that in no offense to expo. I could only assume the OP is poking fun at all the overloaded rigs on this site, as I am sure there are worse than this... Which would explain the warning of possibly offensive...

    TJ vs. XJ decision

If you take all the BS(young driver etc) out of it, a 2000 TJ for a 01 XJ is not a fair trade, and having the TJ being modified even makes that trade worse. I would make him work more for that trade, but thats just me. That said the XJ might fit your needs a bit more than the TJ.

    4BT Cummins Jeep Wrangler JK

What- am I trying to acheive with spending all this hard earned cash Why- am I unhappy with my current set up. When- will it pay for itself (seems to be used alot in these topics as the reason behind the swap-or excuse for justification) How- will this mod effect the rest of my experience...

Is '88 a good year for Cherokees?

Assuming you're willing to tinker with it yes that is a good year. Not that any jeep is free from issues and doesnt require work to make work right but the renix era XJs do require a bit of a learning curve. Small stuff like an adjustable throttle position sensor, closed cooling system, all the...

    Croc Hunter '92 MJ

Cool, it appears to be a long bed truck. Any plans to change the length with the flat bed? the factory MJ bed is a funky(and long) 7'4" or so IIRC.

Brand New To Me 1990 XJ (build and Question thread)

Congrats on the new to you XJ. I started with the exact same year, model, trim, color XJ 10 years ago and still miss that jeep. Convert over to the open system. Much easier to find parts for in the middle of nowwhere and is a much better performing/understandable system. I also had a '90...
