    Help finding the right Pin

Hi, I am looking for a quick release pin, can anyone help me find what I'm searching for? Requirements: 1/2" diameter, 2" possibly 2.5 or 3" long, inexpensive = <$10. Application: it will be replacing a regular 1/2" bolt which passes through a few holes and connect so a free nut on the...

Tips for camping with young kids.

One idea is to get your daughter a small bassinet and get yourself a mummy bag to keep yourself contained. One think to remember with Large tents is that they can be cold and stay cold in cold weather. A six man tent with two people in it will not warm up the same as if it had six people...

    Mars Rover Needs A Winch

On the next one they should mount a little tiny Pull-Pal on the end of a cable. When stuck it could shoot out the anchor and then winch itself off! Or some sort of (emergency use only) ride height adjustment system.

    Overland Journal: Discovery I, 5-speed

Thanks Hank, Although a broad explanation, as you mentioned, it helped to make sense of it all. Now, I'm going to renovate my living room with some of this wood paneling! Believe it or not, we had this stuff in our basement when I was a kid, wait, my mom has never renovated so it's actually...

Although it may be NERDY, a more detailed explanation of why one should be concerned with "modified sinewave" "dirty power" and what that really means, in lay terms, would be very helpful to those of us trying to follow along. Thanks Brian :coffee:

Tips for camping with young kids.

We have been camping with our kids since they were 6mo old. Daughter 4 and Son 2.5 now. Keep in mind that as backpackers and backpacking campers you guys are already well experienced and it should easily translate over. At two years old and 2 months old your kids will merely want to be...

    "King Leonidas" Build thread!

Also try marine adhesive remover. It is designed to break down 3M's 5200 sealant which is tough stuff. I used it on the fender flare sticky back goo and it worked very well. Anything that was left over came right off using a clay bar. :coffee:

    Sedonafest 2009

Nice pictures Chris, Here are a few I captured over the weekend. I must add, this was one of the most family friendly, kid friendly events we have been to in a while. What made the difference was that people actually brought their kids, after that they pretty much take care of themselves!

    Cheap(er) Cabin Electrical/Lighting/Misc. Components

Wow, those are some great prices if that is the stuff you need. Amy and I used to visit the West Marine clearance center back room on an almost daily basis. She worked there so we usually got first pick on new clearance inventory, before it was even priced, and then we got an extra employee...

Pico Chair Alternative - Xpress Lounger

I agree Mark, Time will tell on the durability. One thing I am surprized at is how when folded the handle material (back of chair) only snaps to one side of the folded package so when you pick it up the handle is at a bit of an angle. One additional snap on the other side would provide a more...

I have the QT diff guards fitted to both front and back on my DII. I think of their label as "sliders" not as something that I am going to intentionaly use to slide over an obstacle, rock or log, but rather a description of what they are capable of doing. Having any design of diff guard is no...
