I have uncoated aluminum skid plates. I've run them for over a year, through a salty winter. Sure, they are not shiny anymore, but they are scratched and bent skid plates!
I do have uncoated / polished aluminum wheels too, but I will be taking those off for winter, as the road salt would not be...
Wow, 10 years is a pretty good run.
The new Colorado will be a 2015 model, and there has been plenty of news and chat about it. No word of a new Taco though.
BTW, the Colorado ran for 9 model years, 2004 - 2012.
It's easy when you have nice dry wood.
Heck, I've started a fire in a fire pit by using no ignition source other than the remaining heat in the ashes / coals from the previous night's fire!
However, when you don't have nice dry wood, "cheating" is just so much easier.
I went over the rails because they were scratched by the previous owner.
I have a soft roll up tonneau cover, so no rack or canopy, but I do find myself stepping on the rails when loading and unloading the truck sometimes.
