Modding a Wrangler to Match Land Cruiser Reliability?

A down side to one off stuff is replacement parts sourcing. You would have to buy extra parts for that axle, like custom length shafts or bearings etc. Having currie building you custom axles would very expensive just to run oem wheels.

    Lumpskie's 1989 Grand Wagoneer Build

Ive read though that before too. They might help a small car or a light jeep on hard packed snow or something. Put the weight of one of your wheels on that in deep snow or soft sand and that thing would disappear. Since your going solo and don't have a winch. take a couple straps, shackles...

    Lumpskie's 1989 Grand Wagoneer Build

I hope you don't ever have to use that. Get what you paid for type of thing. It will probably just get pushed right through the snow and mud, becoming ineffective. Maybe mounting it to 5/8 ply wood could help.

    Mtbxj87's 1989 XJ

I am around 2.5" lift. I'm using zone sway bar end links that are designed for 3-6" lift I believe. Even though I have extended bumpstops the top most of the sway bar link contacts the inner fender at full bump. Not too badly but enough to leave a small dent. So I cut a one inch section of the...

    98 Jeep ZJ "SHTFV"

The flares look good. I'm sure you'll do much better with the body work next time. I think better way would have been to drill out the spot welds in the wheel opening and separate the inner and outer quarter panels. Then Cut the just the inner up as far as you want. Then relief cut the outer...

Today I installed my new axle shafts. I wasn't looking forward to it cause it's a lot of work. Pulled the wheels, brakes, tie rod, old half shafts and differential out. Goodbye two piece! I cleaned up the axle housing and shot some paint The new shafts with new larger spicer 760x joints. I...
