Definitely different than what Tom bought! Staz now uses mrap aluminum beadlocks cuts out the center and marries a steel plate. Because the plate is on one side of the remaining center they’re slightly staggered front to back but only about an inch+
as to how they ride, well that’s a question...
a few months ago i was in contact with several 'custom' wheel mfg's to get aluminum rims built, some weren't interested, some were interested but didn't seem to have a clue, and the ones who did were $$$texas$$$
there are also steel wheels in our bolt pattern over in europe - someone on this...
I replaced both of mine, but that was very early in my build when I was still trying to figure everything out and what it did. I’m not sure I would do it again or just have manual fill valves in the cab and go that way with a gauge or gauge for each side
I got a set of Alcoa 22.5’s but with 10r tires the inside dually was pressed hard against the rear air bags...
they aren’t wide enough for singles though. Holding onto the set for now until I exhaust all options to keep it on 20” singles... I agree don’t rush into it. I actually wasn’t going...
Nice job on the switches - does the panel flip off to the side so you can get to the engine? I’m glad mine didn’t have a pc board it was bad enough as it was!
Nice that’s what I did for the first 4-5 months when I tore mine apart and re did the electrical. It looked like a blown up ambo, it was nice being able to leave it wide open the entire process in a climate controlled space!
Nice job the pass through looks exactly like how wheeled coach did mine!
seats - I didn’t find a lot of options. I replaced mine with some National seats with bottom lumbar and back air bolsters ... but I still can’t say if they’re any good as I’m still at least a few weeks from getting back...
nice you're rocking already! are you going to install the accordion seal or did you remove it from the pass through? if you do i'd be interested in knowing how you do it / how easy it is - mine is in good shape but it's one of those 'probably will need one someday' items...
I agree with ducstrom if you orient the steps sideways, but why couldn’t you orient them to flip from the top and then extend straight back? This would also give more length for you to use a heavy duty piano style hinge (?)
I went with stazworks because I thought my vibes were the heavy steel wheels... but I’m not sure that’s what caused the problems (still building mine and no miles on the new wheels ). There’s another member here who found out our GY g275’s may be egg shaped... which would explain my problems!
Oh that’s OSO’s rig he took all through S America. Nice purchase! I’m selling a set of the same wheels. I wish I had gone with the continental tires on my rig.
I’ll be trying the edge for my speedo too glad you like it
So are you really having to manually reset the pins? I mean why have a bowling alley if you don’t have it automatic ?
?. Pure ************ 5star world ender recreational combat hotel
excellent, another one of 'us' :)
I like the shorter box - that was one reason I went with the truck I have even though it's the longer kodiak box it's still only about 25' total OAL which is I think a good compromise for twisty switchbacks and maneuvering without a crazy overhang departure...
Interesting, I sent them an inquiry to see what gvwr they can handle:
“
GoTreads were designed for heavy military vehicles and over-the-road semi-trucks. They have been successfully tested under fully loaded semi-trucks weighing 82,000 pounds. GoTreads will take the punishment and it comes with...
Nice, they’re spendy but definitely get solid reviews! Do you use their mounting pins or did you make your own?
I just put a rack for a 5 gal diesel can on one side of the back next to the double doors, and I’m thinking that having a set of boards on the other side could be worthwhile.
I’ve been considering these, mainly because it would be easier to install mounting pins or bolts right now - but it seems most are way under the weight rating I’d prefer for my kodiak. Anybody in the 15k lb + club actually used traction boards and have any input? The ease of trying these first...
