I really like that the seats have the belts built in, perfect for moving them around. I have been fighting getying factory seat belts to work with aftermarket seats.
PS Thanks for the swag, have a nice sweatshirt to wear for Thanksgiving dinner tonight!
I have spent 30-40 hours with a friend playing around with the valving of bilstien shocks for my AWD express, lonh story short I came to the conclusion that there was an off the shelf oprion available for the fronts of our vans. If memory serves me only the rebound shim stack was different. Plus...
The factory location works pretty well, with some very slight modifications you can put almost a 35 inch tire under there. But then again the tire winch has its own set of troubles.
I have a storage box that I mounted to the rear door of mine, I copied Johnny5. The factory hinges on an Express...
So gracious of you guys! Never won anything before.
You hinted at some of the lighting options coming up for us Express owners. It will be cool to see what you come up with!
I cant wait for the tutorial on the liner. I have shot raptor liner (also made by TCP global) a few times on a few different projects, and I am looking forward to spraying my van with it!
All the alignment places in my neck of the woods are staffed by window lickers. If you have any knowledge buying some alignment tools and doing it yourself is the way I would go.
A good 4x4 shop or commercial or place that can align trailers would be my second choice, but be prepared to spend...
Guy builds sick vans, puts out some good videos, builds awesome parts, sponsors the forum and even has a giveaway for some nice lights and no replys........man tough crowd!
I hope get chosen, they would go well with the custom rear springs you built for my AWD express!
P.S. are the express...
That’s about what I paid for an AWD panel van (wish I woulda started out with a passenger van) with 100,000 more miles on it. A decent deal, but the dealer may have some serious wiggle room built in to that price since its a public service vehicle
A few areas that I would watch out for:
Check...
That would be the right year range. Mine came off an expedition but I know they're the same as the truck. I think the pair cost me maybe $15 at Pick-n-Pull..... So yeah they're pretty reasonable!
If memory serves me you can get almost 1 and a 1/2 in out of the factory keys that are in the...
Stock f150 torsion keys give 2-3" of lift in an awd express. (It's what I run on my van) Lift torsion keys for a f150 would probably not work, they would be indexed so far you probably couldn't install them.
Verkstad what are some of the typical problems you see with the Chebbies? Is it mostly electrical/ body issues more than mechanical? Managing that big of a fleet I am sure you have some invaluable insight!
I made the switch from a RTT on a Jeep to a van a few years ago. Loved the Jeep, but the van is a true four weather camper in the intermountain west. plus it has taken me down nearly all the same trails that the Jeep did. (minus the "rock crawling" trails)
I paid less than $10,000 for a 2007...
I helped my brother turn his passenger van into a cargo (and I am in the process of doing the opposite)
The rear HVAC unitlooks like this:

In this pic from my brothers van you can see how the plenums run upwards to the headliner and forward...
Let me start by saying I have zero experience with a 5.4, but I have a Chevy with a 5.3.........co maybe a bit of apples to oranges comparison?
I have been building my Chevy to be as light as reasonably possible and it has had all the power I have needed. Even when hauling a small Jeep on a...
I have a Hobart Handler 140 and its totally up to the task. I use the hell out of mine with flux-core. Its built some trailers, Jeep frames and even the control arms and steering for my van.
