its not tied into the internals, its wired directly up to the PD output.. the idea being get it as close to the source as possible so its accurate and not suffering from voltage drop.
Here's a quick diagram I whipped up of my setup, I dont have the solar hooked up yet but I will here before April.
The DC-> DC Charger does make things a bit more complicated, I'm not certain this is how solar will be wired up at this point.. I'm pretty sure the Victron MPPT charger will let...
I'm about to get a frontrunner rack and antenna mount for my HAM radio.. I figure I'mna run a grounding strap from the rack to a hinge bolt on hatch.. my body work is all aluminum so this seems like the best option for me.
BMV-712 supports 2 batteries, basically it has 2 voltage monitors.. instead of hooking it up to two batteries you hook it up to both side of the battery protect, lets say the 'starter' battery is set to the load side and the house battery is hooked to the battery side.. I then hooked the relay...
my problem with AGM is they are intolerant of 'abuse' and require very precise charge profiles, for most recreational vehicles abuse is high and getting good charge profiles is expensive.. FLA is far more tolerant to recreational loads and what both AGM and Lead consider heavy abuse Lithium just...
yeah you need a deep freezer and a warm sunny day to get em anywhere near full, not really something you can do in the field.. brand new bottles I bought that season I could refill once, any bottles with any age on em the valve never sealed off perfectly and they were empty when I went to go use...
AGM batteries are rarely suitable for our uses, stick to good ole lead and just have a box that will catch any spills/leaks.. only need to worry about venting if its an airtight environment, hydrogen is very difficult to contain and will easily escape if there's any way out.. nothing to worry...
there's unmanned weight stations all over the PNW, its usually where I get my weigh ins at.. worst case go pay for some truck stop scales and get accurate numbers... make sure you load it up as you intend..

I'm 6'4 and quite prize the ability to stand up, I rented a camper that didnt have full height doors and I concussed my self carrying a pot of boiling water to the sink.. ugh that coulda ended alot worse than it did, luckily i can take a hit to the dome heh.. I've got alot family in the PNW and...
I see your point, but on a motor vehicle you always have an engine+alternator so I dont put that much value in overall capacity.. as long as house battery can keep things going between drives your good, if you put a massive battery in it and then dwell in one spot for a long time then you need...
seems we are planning on visiting the north rim right after the camps open up for the season, we are going to swing through arches and zion on the way.. If you can get across to the other side your welcome to check it out, I'll try to remember to DM yeh once we've concreted the plans..
I too am...
You can always downsize your starter battery, I use a small deka (ETX16) on my v6 race car and it has no problem starting it up..
also consider putting a Solid State LVD (like Victron Battery Protect) on your aux battery to prevent over-discharging it.
Congrats! Get used to everyone wanting to checkout yer trailer.. I didnt think aluminum was magnetic but i'll be damned if it dont attract a lot of lookie loos
yeah it comes with warranty cards for tipouts that has instructions, mine had been on dealer lot for over a year and this had already...
I rented a few trailers before deciding to buy, was about $800 a week for a $30k trailer.. made me wonder why anyone would buy an airstream or something, for $60k I could rent one several times a year for 10 years and never even come close to price of actually buying one...
I think that would depend on if the trailer is wider than the tow vehicle.. if not then it would draft alot better behind the TV w/the leading edge lower than the TV roofline.. If the trailer was wider than the tow vehicle, a V-Nose would probably be the better of the two.
Aero is nice, but...
