Welcome to Expo! Very nice truck indeed..
3M VHB tape is very easy to use, stick immediately, good or bad, and is just as strong. I believe it is the more common method in Australia. In Japanese Heavy Truck section, member whatcharteboat and several other are a wealth of info about this type...
The DAF is a similar size to the Steyr 12M18 and the FMTV family of truck cab. Bigger than a standard cab but still limited to side facing jump style or kid car seats.
It is interesting how they jump up to the much larger size after these. Those bigger cab really do cater to the firefighter...
I also think the MPG is over rated. Most MDT weighing in over 10T are not going to get more than 9-10 mpg, and most RV are less than that. So regearing and getting 7-8+ isnt any different. Just my opinion of course. You cant compare these trucks to a FG/NPR that weigh less the 6T.
Can you give some more specs on the truck. What year, engine, are you redoing the gearing, etc? Love the FMTV trucks so many great options. Totally overlooked on Expo, IMHO. Good luck and enjoy!!
Spoke with the owner of this truck. Very knowledgable gentleman, Dutch living in VT/CT. He has a 1428 he is working on building out now. He imported that one and has the 1226 ready to come over now. The price on CL is the total cost to the new owner.
No vested interest in this other than...
Could you tell us where you found the 1017? Did you import yourself or was it in the US? Love that truck, seems like a great base vehicle. Good luck with your build!
This is the second Mog Ive seen for under $50K. Granted they have both been in Canada, but still not $100K by far. Either way would be nice if these were more reasonable.

Just to keep bumping this old thread. What does the Brazos/Titan offer that the LMTV/FMTV doesnt?? The Cummins? You can get get the older or newer CAT engines in the LMTV Otherwise it appears to be the same. No improvements that I can see. Or am I missing something. Plus it cost 6-8-10...

We have use multiple versions of these pouches for years. Meds, IV, dressings you name it there is a pack that fits its. Plus you can see through them for easy access. You can put smaller in bigger depending on...
If you really want a big truck Dakar/Unicat look you need to look at the Isuzu FTR, its a much better looking truck, in my opinion. Its a real size truck designed for long haul. Theyre sold as FTS 4x4 in ROTW. Just need to find an drive axle, otherwise the same idea as the NPR size conversions.
