It appears to be like regular American RVs on the inside. Same pre-made sofa/dinette and cabinets. Nothing special for sure. I will say the ER I feel is a bit overpriced, but the craftsmanship is light years ahead of what those pictures appear to be. But at least its a MDT 4x4 camper, better...
You can purchase both planed panels in the US, the only caveat is the volumes. I recall it was 60K SF. They are made to order special runs for both Dow and OC, and you don't have to get them in standard sheet sizes. They can do continuous length of close to 20 ft. The cost of those panels...
Thanks. Youre doing a great job! Really glad you came up with the supersteer piece. I could see something under RebelZilla but had no idea what it was, didnt know there was such an option to change push-pull.
Correct rruff. With the moisture cures I can have 20-90min of set up time and less than 90 minutes press time. Temperature dependent. Epoxy will certainly work and is easy to use and used by plenty of folks. For me I just think the moisture or 2 parts are better simply because of the time...
There isnt much reason to reinvent the wheel. The Australian and European panel manufacturers are using some version of pu adhesives, moisture, 2 part or hot melt, depending on their manufacturing lines. FRP and planed XPS and it works. Just find which type of adhesives works best for YOU and...
I agree with what IdaSho is saying, epoxy is very easy and available, but the other thing to consider is the time required for epoxy vs polys. 1-2 hr clamp time for poly vs 12-24 for epoxy. The easiest set up for small shop is vacuum bagging for either adhesive. The invest can be rather...
According to Dow and OC their planed, laminate designed version of panels are the same construction/make up as their building panel, densities being equal. Ive only spoken with the US reps for both, but the specs for RTM appears the same. Victorian is most certainly the authority and the...
Evidently the embossed lettering causes a "film." The planing not only makes it more uniform but removes that. if you look at EU or AU panels they offer planed no lettering without the large (truckload) volumes needed that we have here in the states.
If you play around with pulling the skins...
StomperXJ,
Be aware the panels that have printing on them, ie most XPS panels, have a film that interferes with adhesion. Dow and OC make panels that are planed at the factory for lamination. Not available in the US for less than 10K square feet. Just be aware.
This is exactly what UroCamper out of Spain has been doing for years. Uses Stador brand panels, routes the edges, and CF tape to join the edges. Victorian is giving the correct info on his panels, you should speak with the individual panel manufacturer and get their info.
