Vehicle manufacturers have been bundling safety gadgets into huge add-on packages for a long time now. And I wish it would stop.
To get a decent pair of headlights on a truck you have to add a bunch of crap that you don't want.
Maybe that's all that will come of this. A la carte ordering.
It's cute that they gave it a "grill" ---- I saw my first Rivian in the wild on Sunday and, honestly, it looked weird to me. I guess I'll get used to EVs eventually.
Just saw this news.
Will be released next year.

And even those vary with no rhyme or reason. A 48 from one company might fit fine but from another company is too small. Even two shoes from the same company in the same size often fit differently.
And brick/mortar stores are stocking fewer and fewer size 14s these days.
I think that also it's that consumers these days are heavier and they're making things to fit fat people.
I worked with a guy that was 7" shorter than me but more than double my weight. We wore the same size shirt; it had to wrap around and under his belly to tuck in.
We wore the same size...
I went ahead and ordered a pair of the Jim Green African Ranger boots back then.
Took a while until they made a batch; the pair arrived Friday.
And they're huge. Too long and too much volume.
sigh
Very well made though. Wish they were in a brick/mortar store so I could try on different sizes...
My wife gave my Nomex Simpson racing shoes to Goodwill ---- said that since we don't own sportscars anymore or anything to take to the track that I didn't need them.
And I said, "oh yeah? What about Lotto? When we hit I'll have to search all over for another pair in a size 14."
I used to get premium batteries at employee pricing. I'd run two 100ah (give or take) AGMs and try to keep them up with 100w solar. Replace every two years or so.
Got old. Then expensive without the employee pricing.
Doing much better now with 100ah LiFePo4 battery and 200w solar. Easy...
The ExPo uniform requires khakis. Button-down shirt with epaulets for officers. Wide-brimmed hat.
If you've never been mistaken for a forest ranger, you ain't ExPo.
I'd give them a try-on if I saw them in a store. But looking online they seem to be a bit short in the inseam for me and order/return would be a hassle.
And as soon as we took her camping, got her in the woods on trails, she discovered her true destiny, chasing small game.
She gets on a scent and PULLS.
So we bought this:
Works great.
I have a Duluth Trading Whaleback for cold weather wetness. For warm I have one of their lighter coats. Both keep me bone-dry.
The Whaleback is really really warm btw.
Most batteries hate you if you don't charge them all the way back up. Lithium is the exception.
How about some bigger/better solar? Renogy is running a Christmas sale right now. A 200w suitcase, the high efficiency one, will probably solve your problem. I have one and don't even think about...
