Sorry for long delay. I had not been following the thread.
Strongly vouch for the dragonfly. We have the 144" sprinter setup they sell. I did hear from another party (after ordering - of course) you can get a customization to make it either freestanding or vehicle mount but I don't know any...
I am considering upping my lighting game for arriving in dispersed areas at night we always struggle with our stock lights. Either seeing roadway or spots well.
At first I thought I was going to put a led light bar above my front mount spare tire carrier bumper (approx. headlight height) for...
I figured it wasn't a 'pavement princess' still but maybe a little rougher than anticipated. Someone had been on Tiger forum very upset about their wheels and tires on the Siberian too so I can verify that problem. I believe they were $250k+ new from Tiger. Also the best way to reach out to...
I am a long time diesel owner, we grew up with 91 and 93 cummins in the barn, I personally had a 95, 2001, 2004.5, and 2016 now (the 1993 and 2001 are the best cummins). Had 2 ford 7.3's IDI and powerstroke. Now we have a 8.1 gas big block gmc Tiger and I find it enjoyable in a different way...
Depending on the mileage on it - pretty good price for what you get especially compared to some other tigers I've seen for sale recently. If I had the cash sitting around I'd be taking a flight to look at it.
Here is a video walkthrough of the same unit
We had a 1998 5.4 f350 single cab at my old employers which I guess is a different beast. Sorry for the bad info. It was the most reliable work truck of like 5 contractor trucks we beat around the mountains with that company. I towed a skid steer from Denver to Vail with it once and it did...
For my 2005 GMC 2500hd Tiger the only difference between a 2500hd and 2005 GMC SRW 3500 is one leaf spring. It adds approx 500# payload for the extra leaf spring (the GVWR is like 700# higher but leaf spring weight comes into play). So in reality you could make it a 3500 with a leaf spring...
We do pretty well on trails and side forest roads living in Colorado - I have an offroading background before Overlanding. Have been pretty impressed with the 2005 2500hd with just oversized tires and I think they may have put a small lift on it before our ownership because our Tiger does look...
Sorry for slow response - I had not been following the thread.
I think it would be too low below the dinette window. Especially when you consider coming down your stairs to that area plus if you go above the door and dinette window you can have a much longer awning We were able to squeeze...
I seen this one for sale on Tiger forum. I can message the seller if you want and dont have account. We have a 2005 Crewcab #1023. I'm too busy with my real estate investing to get too much done on it. We sure do take some trips we are in training for some longer remoter trips as we become...
The 5.4 is a solid reliable engine probably ok to power the rig but I don't think you'd want to tow much with it. I'd def rather have it than the 6.4 diesel but the v10 probably best engine for 2009 Fords. 5.4 supposed to get 12-13 mpg in an F350 so that's pretty nice.
I like the exterior box maybe not interior build out... Tool box kitchenette not a bad idea.

At my younger age, fixing stuff and upgrading constantly is part of the fun. 200,000 mile tiger does that to you :) I have a great story to tell rest my life how my black tank fell off on the yampa bench trail! I can see the selling point of a reliable well built rig though.
