Does this beast have open diffs still? Maybe add some lockers and some 35's or 37's and join us in the Sierras in a couple years?

Yes, normally the early Gen 3 has cladding that hangs down at the wheel wells as you can see on the rear section so Rocky Road made sliders that fit in between the cladding for a bolt on solution. Some guys just remove those sections and run a full length slider, you can see he's missing the...

I also have several sets of good used Gen 2 steering, heaps of glass and interior bits, lots of things i can't remember so it never hurts to ask. I don't have any engines, OEM radiators or heater cores i will part with.

I also have 2 sets of Gen 2 LS springs And 1 set of SR springs, the SR springs are known as Sport springs and they are still on the '94. The normal springs are a bit taller and softer, the Sport springs are stiffer and shorter. They provide about the same amount of lift for a Gen 1 but the LS...

I'll regret this later... and i know there is a for sale section but this is Montero stuff. With the SAS looming it's time to let go of my spares and let you guys start calling dibs on the parts still on my truck. PAJ brought over a couple sets of Superwinch hubs yesterday as well as his wheel hubs. I went ahead and tested the inner splines on our axles and outer splines in my wheel hubs. On his wheel hubs i removed the races, bead blasted and cleaned. They look like this now.

Got a Gen 1 LWB, what now?

So with my wife's Mirage getting totalled while i was out on the Rubicon the '05 became her daily driver. It was much too nice of a Montero to be tasked with wife duties although we both loved it I rehomed it yesterday. I'll replace it with a more fuel efficient wagon/girl car. With the '05...

    Value/price check - 96 Montero Sr

This is very true BUT the later trucks are also geared a few hundred RPM away from their useful powerband. An SOHC, on 31-33's with 4.90's is perfect.

I'm looking for someone with 3&4G certs, for the right guy we would give a year to get his certs and we'd pay for them. I do need someone with some experience though, this is a journeyman level job. Kids coming straight out of school are probably not a good fit, a few years experienced out of...

Well my actual shop is very far from those cool custom fab shop jobs, but those cool jobs don't pay very well unless you own the shop. I hope to find a good talented kid who knows his or her stuff but we'll see. It would be way cool to have another Montero guy here welding or if i find the right...

Get it! Those SRs are great and that's a good example of one, price is right too. Do the timing and then rebuild the suspension and it will kick ass just how it sits.

That's not permanent, i just didn't want the truss to rust with all the humidity. I use Kyrlon, I'll paint these with a ton of thin coats so they'll look good and be easy to clean/touch up every year or as needed. Rust never sleeps! Look at me worrying about rust in Az.
