Why Mitsubishi doesn't import Montero sport?

Because they are stupid, I'd buy one tomorrow if they were here. Those are great trucks, just sign for the next 7 years worth of payments :wings: Before the hostile takeover by Nissan they were hinting at bringing it here, they'll drop the ball again i'm sure.

    Gen 3 trans skid install

Working on a hardware upgrade, either machining my own protective washers or more likely switching all skidplate hardware to button head cap bolts. Originally i was going to counter sink everything but aside from that making the skid plates more expensive tapered metric fasteners are nearly...

    Gen 3 trans skid install

Made a little skid plate to protect my transmission pan, i figured since i protected the front diff and axle disconnect i should protect the other vitals as well. Just had to line up the new plate with the factory front holes to mark the locations for the rears. Carefully drilling so as not to...

160k isn't bad, I'd catch it up on maintenance and rock that motor. As for the trans, Is it shifting hard or irregular? Here's some motivation... What side of the country are you in?

    Retreads...and 3rd Gen tire/lift preferences

They actually did pretty good performance wise as far as traction goes offroad, our friend really liked them onroad as well. The thing that steers me away from them is that we had two of them pop on the Rubicon (I believe day 1) and for like no reason. What got me was that we had 3 trucks...

    Retreads...and 3rd Gen tire/lift preferences

I recommend Bilstein 4600's and real BFG KO2's for your truck, Gen 3's are more sensitive to tires than other Monteros. People get upset when i say don't run cheap tires, some brands can have their ups and downs and just because "awesome brand" owns "lesser brand" does not make lesser brand...

GEN 1 3.0 Timing Belt Tensioner Tool

It's low tension, pry it over, tighten the nut to hold it open then release when the belt is in place. You have a service manual?

GEN 1 3.0 Timing Belt Tensioner Tool

No, your engine doesn't require a special tool. It's got the old spring tensioner assuming you don't have a newer engine swapped in.

Front lower rearmost (frame) control arm bushing replacement question..

I get them out with a C clamp and a small section of exhaust tubing (for the bushing to press into) with a little plate on it to clamp on. The driver side you can get the new bushing in just un bolting the rear most mount on the front diff.
