Trasharoo w/ExPo Logo Group Buy - Round 5!

I could be wrong, but you should keep an eye on it if you care much about the paint. You could also get some stick on rubber pads from home depot or lowes and place them anywhere it makes contact with paint or window.

    Montero low towing capacity

That's funny, I searched for "1995 Montero towing capacity" and it does say 5000#, then I tried 1996,1997,1998,1999,2000 and they all say 5000# except the 1997 says 1500#. I guess I should trust google results less.

    Montero low towing capacity

I've been looking at buying a M100 trailer and was checking out the tow rating for my 1997 Montero SR. Google shows it as 1500#, but that seems quite low, that's the same as a 4cyl Honda Element or 4cyl Toyota Rav4. For example, a V6 4runner has a 5000# tow rating. I've never towed anything with...

Blue Sea add a battery kit, arkpak or national luna

I'd be interested in seeing your install pics, I'm considering this setup for my dual batteries. Also, what do you think about this kit: http://www.ebay.com/itm/HEAVY-DUTY-DUAL-AUXILIARY-BATTERY-ISOLATOR-W-CABLES-COMPLETE-KIT-150A-/151177241380?hash=item2332dda324&vxp=mtr

    Monteros on craigslist

I thought the same thing. Some people might think that a compass/altimiter/thermometer qualify as bells and whistles though, or that it has a steering wheel and 4 tires, who knows. Seems like a pretty good price though.

    my "new" 1998 GenII Montero

You should just push the t-case lever up to 4Hlc, then put the gear selector in Neutral, then push straight downward on the t-case lever and you'll feel it depress, then push upward to 4L, then shift back to Drive and go. Engage the rear locker (if needed) at this point before you set off. This...

1998 Montero 2" body lift begins

Nice! What method did you use? Jack the body up off the L or R side and install the lift spacers one side at a time? Any issues with clearance in trans tunnel or with transfer case lever binding?

    Expedition Overland - 2015 Season

Great episode! It was really impressive seeing the Tacoma pull those hills, I'm sure the 1500+ lbs extra helped a bit.

Gen2 overheating when driving slow hills

The way I've checked if a fan is good in the past is roll up a newpaper or magazine and touch it to the outer blades once the engine is warmed up. If the fan stops, your clutch is probably bad, if it knocks the newspaper out of the way it's probably good. Also, did you confirm that your AC fan...

Gen2 overheating when driving slow hills

Sorry guys. I ended up accidentally poking a hole in the new CSF radiator and bought a Spectra radiator as a temporary fix. I mounted the Volvo fan and shroud to a toggle. It fits pretty tight around the pulleys but moves a lot of air. I did find the AC fan to be bad and replaced it with a 12"...

Anyone used Silla or Spectra radiators?

I'm not blaming CSF, I took the $250 hit, it just seemed a bit weak. My OEM is covered in knocks and bent fins, I've bumped it with ratchets/wrenches and still doesn't leak a drop. I'd rather not repair a radiator that I'd be constantly dancing around accidentally touching while doing repairs.

Anyone used Silla or Spectra radiators?

My OEM is pretty badly rusted out and corroded, no amount of flushing could clear it. Unfortunately there aren't any radiator shops where I'm located unless I drive 4 hours or so, plus I sort of lost faith in the CSF. I was using pliers and slipped, they glanced the radiator and it started...

Anyone used Silla or Spectra radiators?

I believe so, the parts where the black is worn off look copper. It's a Denso unit, marked 422130-8181.
