Ugh sorry to hear about this experience.
Once you get it sorted (either by the dealer, yourself or a knowledgeable shop) you'll like the lift. we've run the 2.5 hard off road and it does it all...and gets you to work the rest of the week.
Check in over at the AEV forum for any other...
Thank you.
I totally agree- AEV does s solid job of building it beefier but with clean lines that look OEM.
yup- from OK4WD. It does close with red switch key in place. We're running the same setup & winches on both Jeeps.
Bigger Mods Part 1
Got Jeep back last week from our local shop (OK4WD) and have been grinning all week. In addition to the mods the DMV finally transferred my license plate from the 4Runner!
First round of the major mods is complete. We've been completely happy with the AEV gear on our 2...
Thanks guys! its good to be back!
Scott - glad to hear it. they seem like solid guys making some good stuff right here in the US.
Yes - Trail Edition with KDSS
thanks Jamie - only the good stuff!
Thanks Bob! we'll definitely be in VT for the rally and at least on day trip. look forward...
Headlights
I think we all can agree that the stock Jeep JK headlights are pretty sad. This became apparent whenever we'd alternate between dirtanddresses Rubi and the 4Runner. We live in a small town with lots of surrounding farmland (read: deer country) so I knew one of the first mods would...
Transferring some gear:
I migrated some gear to start and make the Jeep feel like it was mine.
First off I transferred the Blue Ridge Overland MOLLE seat panels and sun visor to get some of the smaller stuff organized & in a familiar place. I was happy with how these worked in the 4Runner and...
and 1-2-3-go!
So after about a year in my 5th Gen 4Runner I knew it was time to get back into a Jeep. The 5th Gen was a good truck but I missed being in a Jeep terribly.
We've been building dirtanddresses 2dr JKR and I had been eyeing it every time we took it on an adventure.
The thing...
Sounds like you have a nicely kitted 100!
As for JKs: nope -we've never been stranded by any of them.
2007 JK X (sold)
2008 JKUR (sold)
2013 JKR
and now 2014 JKUR
if possible I'd say go for the 2012+
Hey neighbor!
Bummer-they're kinda rare to find with low miles. But keep looking & if I see one I'll send it you're way.
If you get a meet up going lmk- always up for seeing people's rigs.
Based on what you're saying I'd say Rubi. 33-34s seem to be the max tire size on 5th gens without a...
Thanks! My main reason for switching was I missed being in a Jeep. We've been building up my girlfriends 2 door JKR and I really dug the improvements (engine/interior/etc) from our earlier JKs. A couple trips last year pushed me over the edge. Very happy to be back in a Jeep.
The 4R is a...
glad you made it to Pro Pig - totally understand the time thing. too many amazing places to see/eat/drink!
I think a north to south California brewery trip would be epic. Hmmm. sidebar: VT Overland added a new HF trip for next year [emoji41]
I think you've nailed why most of them don't...
