Thanks Haven for the links.
I need a computer to update the GLO. I only have an Ipad. On route to EXPO and planning 1000+miles off road the next few weeks and up a creek with this issue. Really sucks. Various posts on subject say Apple unresponsive to issue. Really causes me to rethink Ipad...
IOS 8.3 issue update
Garmin says they have a software update for the GLO to deal with IOS 8.3 issues. I have not yet tried it. Bad Elf still working on it?
Traveling without computer and will try when I get laptop.
If you are using an external gps(bad elf or Garmin GLO) with an apple wi fi only iPad and want to use your off line maps there is a serious issue with the most recent iOS 8.3 update. Your gps will connect to your iPad but it will not transfer location data. Numerous posts online....which I...
Try these guys. They sell the "Hella" or BMW style plug.
I have wired a couple of motorcycles, a Tacoma and a Tundra using their plugs and sockets. Small than a cigarette lighter, stays plugged in and more durable.

Not sure about current pricing. My price was the first-tank development price which included all the trial and error, fitting issues, messing around to test things, changes at the last minute, etc....so it was stupid expensive. I bellied up simply because Ii really wanted the extended range, the...
Completely understand. Good luck with the tank. I hope your install is issue-free. And that there is someone to call if it isn't.
In any event, having the extra gallons of fuel is, in the end, what this is about and you will REALLY like the additional range.
The first CES tank
I have continued to read with interest several years of posts re: a larger tank for the Tacoma. I worked with CES to build the first one. I have since sold the truck to a friend who has used the truck aggressively (installing a supercharger) and beating the truck far harder...
I have had really good experiences with Revzilla over the years. Recently, however, I stopped in to see the small retail outlet that Atomic Moto has here in Bend. I met the owners and some of the local (serious) riders who test their gear. On their recommendation I purchased a pair of...
Ditto Scott's opinion that Sidi Crossfire if riding at all in dirt.
For mild dirt and on road I just switched to Alpinestars Toucan. It is Goretex (Crossfire isn't, but I have ridden Crossfire in 3 hour downpour and not had wet feet), has moderate protection and the comfort is beyond compare...
Just switched from Sidi Adventure Goretex to Alpinestars Toucan Goretex. Tried the Toucan on at Atomic Moto here in Bend. Most comfortable motorcycle boot I have ever worn. Great right out of the box. Just did 5 days across the Mojave and they were fantastic. Great review and video at...
Back seat storage
Early this summer my wife and I are planning to drive the Continental divide. Rig flying formation will be roof top tent only (no trailer). In preparation we are trying to reduce and redistribute weight and maximize storage. Because only two of us will be in the rig I have...
I roughly sketched it out but happy to recreate a more readable diagram. Essentially the system is as follows
Start Battery to 175 amp fuse
Fuse to Battery combiner
Battery combiner to aux battery in truck bed
Aux battery to box containing breaker panel (breakers for frig, compressor, water...
I have removed the rear seat of my Tundra and looking for ideas for creating storage solutions which use rear seat anchor points (shelves, tie downs, etc). Would love to see what others have done.
Just returned from 10 days in Death Valley testing gears and lockers. Magnificent changes. Gears make towing much easier and seems to handle all the weight better. Traction difference over wheels-in-the-air terrain dramatically better. Broke the gears in for about 400 miles before taking...
'13 Tundra
After 10 days in Death Valley testing my new 4:88 gears and lockers, my rig got a bath in Lone Pine and was ready for posing in Alabama Hills.
New gearing and lockers were fabulous.
