Can't believe I misses this thread, just picked up an 06 tundra. Doing some electrical upgrades and a stereo install. Also just ordered a set of Toyo 255/85R16 mt for it.
"Boomer", I like that, not sure it will fly with the wife. Hopefully I will be able to post up some more "expedition" mods in the neat future.
For the money, I think any sound deadener is a GREAT investment. We did the inside of our HJ61 and dropped road noise by 5db. That's a great...
On my quest for knowledge for the 1st gen tundra I have come to the conclusion that there is very little offered for these trucks. It really surprises me as the following and loyalty of this model is strong.
Here is our new to us 2006 double cab, getting it's first hook up to the trailer...
Had the exact same issue this weekend with our net, brand new out of the bag, so I am glad to read that ARB is dealing with the situation.
Keep us updated. I haven't contacted ARB but will in the morning.
I love my M101CDN but I would go custom if I was doing it again. All the things I wanted I built on the M101. Rear tailgate, lid, outside storage, spring over, larger fenders ect.
A trailer is a great fabrication project IMO and you will get exactly what you want.
I have that one covered, it won't be taller then my tow rig, no matter what I do.
I do agree that they catch a lot of wind, and that is one of the reasons I want to come up with a solution to put it on my trailer over the Cruiser.
Thanks for some of the ideas. I think I like the idea of a scissor lift style on two sides. Not sure if I can fab something or find some thing that would work. The straight extension poles are simple but require some strength/ability to set up. I like the idea of using a strut if I go that...
Has anybody come up with a solution for raising a RTT on a trailer when deployed but having it sit tight to the lid when it transit? I would prefer something I could raise and lower with one person.
I want to be able to use the annex of our Simpson tent when it is on the trailer.
I have...
we have the grill and burner. We really like that you can replace the grill with a griddle and do eggs or pancakes or bacon ect.
Highly reccomended for only 2 people. It gets a little crammed when cooking for more then that. or you have to take shifts.
For our lifted Cruiser with a tailgate we love the tent off the back. Our hatch doesn't hit and it gives us dry access to the rear. With an awning out the side we didn't want to have to have enough room for both to deploy out the sides. With it out the back, we can hug one side of the truck...
Kurt, you ready to go into mass production with these things yet. 10 nights in our tent and I can say if this doesn't drive you crazy you are a better man then I!!
I like the idea, expense might be an issue for some. Complete kits can get expensive fast. A good bag and good gear is a must. I am NO expert in the area but I try to get as much first aid training as a I can, especial on the wilderness and combat end of things.
I would look to the...
Be care full with the quick clot. I have seen one guy rip it open with his teeth, not pretty. Make sure you know what you are doing if you have the supplies, as QC should only be used as a last resort and not if you're a 20 min ride to the ER
I also carry a CAT tourniquet. It may be more...
Thanks Kurt!
We where brainstorming to see if a thin peice of puck board attached to one side and bolted through big slots on the other with big flat pan heads might work??
Looking forward to your thoughts
unfortunately its a problem for us. The mattress cover is already cut from getting pinched, and I am up over 7ft in the air. I have to be standing on the ladder to pull the mattress out (which is what I did the first time and cut the cover) I don't want to do that if I don't have to.
May I...
