    ARB Simpson III mattress issues

I finally got my new tent and so far so good except for the mattress. It won't stay in place. The velcro is not holding the tent and every time you fold the tent up it falls off, which leads to it getting pinched between the base when you go to deploy. Has anybody else ran into this issue...

ARB Awning w/mosquito net and mounting

I don't have it mounted yet as it just got here yesterday and is missing a leg but here is a picture of the back of it. Basically an extrusion to mount bolts onto. I got the 6 bolts and no other hardware with mine.

    Volunteer SAR "Perks"

As others have stated, we get our training paid for as volunteers. (its' not free, someone pays) Oakley Sunglasses gives discount to SAR members in Canada. I had to sign up and email a copy of my SAR ID to be eligible. Drop Zone tactical in Edmonton also gives discount to SAR members. I...

Mud TIRES: BFGoodrich KM2, Goodyear MTR Kevlar, or Swamper SSR

absolutely beautiful!! Sorry for the high jack but I am really interested in your thoughts of these tires on the road. I am looking at the toyos, Iroks and the Rocker in a 37" tire. The offroad performance is supposed to be great. check your pm's

Eezi-Awn vs ARB III RTT advice needed

That would be great Kurt! We won an ARB gift certificate at this years River Shiver and I am just in discussion with them as to how much stuff we can buy with it...:wings: Have you had a chance to see the new annex as well? Our truck is pretty tall (HJ61 with high roof SOA on 38s) Do you...

Eezi-Awn vs ARB III RTT advice needed

Have you had a chance to compare the IIIA to the IIIB? Are you happy with the upgrades? We are looking at the Simpson III as out first RTT. We are just concerned about some of the QC that we have read over the net. It really looks like ARB is stepping up to the plate on fixing issues but...

? Happy with 24V AIR Compressor after...

I have the 24V version of the extreme air. Had it for a couple, maybe three years. It has filled hundreds of tires. Mostly over the 37" variety. 38s and 39.5 being more common. Can't tell you how long it takes, but my 38x14 toyos get filled faster then the rest in our group (if they don't...

    T-Top Eezi-Awn pics!

Great review! As we are going through the great debate on RTT in our house this tent and the Camping Labs RTT are the two that we always come back to. Spend the big bux and get the T-top or go a little more conservative and go for the great Camping labs product. One issue that concerns me is...

    Spare fuel swing down

Howdy. Thanks for all the great comments. I have been using the above set up for a couple years and it works VERY well. I no longer use the strap to hold the cans in place. They don't move enough to warrant it. I have never had a leak at the cap with these cans. I do check frequently...

    factor PTO winch

I don't have any better pictures of it. I no longer have the bumper but if memory serves me correctly, I had to notch the cross member on the ARB to access the PTO drain plug and I cut off some bracketry (for a winch) on the the ARB. I also used a new rear cross member for the PTO winch. It...

Yup. When I state keyed I mean switched with the key. In my set up I do not use the balancing function of the solar converter. My truck is 100% 24V (even the headlights) and all the balance function did was kill my batteries. This way, when the truck is off, the converter is doing nothing...

    24v vehicle with 12v accessories

I am running a solar converter and charging a third 12V bat in my system. I am running a 1000W inverter, CB, HAM, and a radio off the 12V. Check your equipment. My Blackberry, Garmin GPS and dell laptop all plug into 24V as others have suggested, find yourself a 24V motor for your winch...

    factor PTO winch

factory porch out front with PTO modified to sit in a ARB bumber I now have it even tighter in a custom bumper (that is getting cut up as I type) Not a great pic, but it's in there. It still sticks out about an inch + more then what is needed for a Warn 8274.

    factor PTO winch

i have one on my 61. I like it but would not acquire one. Tied to the drive train. Typically you put the tcase in neutral and engage the PTO. This takes away some of your ability to "help" the winch with tire spin if needed. You can engage the tcase and the PTO but your line speed and tire...

    FJ 60 information

I agree with the huge blocks on the NA trucks... Our auto insurer is going to allow a 6" lift block but not SOA conversion of any kind. It makes no sense. I actually had to phone my old man to ask him, he always likes to get calls from me asking him about Africa. So he thanks you for pushing...

    FJ 60 information

The axle rap associated with a SOA suspension is not limited to just Cruisers that have a spring over. It would be on all vehicles that have a SOA suspension set up. That's most, if not all pick ups I believe?? Are you concerned about those rigs suspensions as well? I think they deal with it...

    FJ 60 information

uhhm.. I am no expert, but my father lived in Nigeria for years and frequents Zambia and Tanzania and he has seen his fair share of hard working land cruiser, and lots of them have broken birfields...at least in his experience but his biggest complaint, tires. But that's for another...

    FJ 60 information

Sounds like a great rig. Get all the maintenance done and have fun with it! ntsqd I am interested in what the one problem with a SOA cruiser is. We have two xJ60s in the family, one is on OME and the other is Belton. I also have OME on my SOA 61. On all the suspensions it was a game of...

    Are rear tire carriers essential?

essential, no. Nice to have, YES! I will agree with the PITA factor for getting in the tailgate. But it's not that bad. My tire carrier/fuel rack is a copy of the 4x4 labs and is split off center. If you are pulling a short trailer beware of opening clearances. I like my tire up out of the...
