I was hoping to return the front clip back to original 65 series sheet metal since I am going to replace the frame now but I don't want to add a constent state of concern over engine temp control.
Anyway made the decision to go coiler using either D1 or RRC LWB frame will decide this week...
In talking with Evan we are seriously kicking around the idea of a coil suspension since the frame is on life support. One thought is to sue a RRC or Disco frame
I will try and call mid day
Thanks dale I will keep that in mind, You wouldn't have a LWB RRC rolling chassi with disc brakes laying around? or maybe a rolling disco chassi
I need to start an opinion pole :ylsmoke: Series front vs Stage 1 / defender front
It appears that now instead of later the frame swap will need to take place and since I want to have disc brakes that now helps make the decision on coil vs leaf.
and since I will have it apart I considering shifting the engine back and reinstalling the 65 front clip
Ok lets hear some thoughts

How do you feel about the automatic? Seems it would take a lot of the fun of an old rover out of it?
Cool, Some fun roads near Big Walker Mt, we used to cruise all over that area when I was at VT.
Regarding the automatic. I have used both and with the exception of having to back down A step...
I will, plan to be down to see him in a couple weeks at his place in greenwood sc. He is really doing me a big favor by fixing some fugly rust and adding more improvements.
As I understand it a PO did a stage 1 V8 conversion which was the transistion from series III and the defender, this would account for the different front clip, mirrors etc.
the interior is RRC seating, aftermarket heater, and a complete rewire, and other bits. Also the seat box was removed to...
I purchased it from Peter L. in Florida he was straight up on everything and went out of his way to provide a pile of photos. At the moment the truck is with Evan Amaya in SC who is taking care of the rusted pieces and a few other items before I bring it home
Of course I forgot to mention she doesn't know yet:ylsmoke:
I am looking for a set of 16" steel rims, not wolf style, military 6.5X16 would be great:sombrero:
Series 109 Birthday present now 1 1/2 years later
This started several years back when I purchased an SIIa 88" for my wife to enjoy. We quickly found out that its short comings would render it a very occasional driver until I could add the "improvements". So I sold it and since that time I've...

At the moment cooper only a
Has ST in 255 but the rumor mill says they will have maxxs by year end. Since 255's are 33" you might get sume rubbing on the inner fender. 04 4 runners have smaller wheel wells then my 02
My two cents, about what it's worth. I have had the coopers on my 2500 ram for two years and haven't liked them since i pu them on the truck (285's) lousy in the mud and wet grass, a real pain to balance took several tries and they never have been right. They do wear well. I have had duratrcs...

Anyone looking at this kit should know Bill takes great care of his equipment
