Thanks for the responses. No HG repair just a little OCD about flushing all the old coolant mixture out and starting over. Figure I have between 4-5 quarts in the block of distilled water, guess I'll go the concentrated route and mix accordingly.
thanks
I looked around the Mitsubishi forum but didn't see an answer. When replacing the coolant it would seem that about 35-40% stays in the block. Do folks usually pull the engine coolant drain plugs to empty the block (if so where are they located-looked in FSM but didn't see them callout), if not...
Bikerjosh's Montero
@nckwltn they are Hancook 32x 11.5 -15. Was too lazy to air them down so they had about 35-37 psi in them. Need to plan another DV trip.
I don't know it would be close I think given the height of the blue sea box, also it would make getting into the factory fuse box a pain since you'd have 6 separate wires going into Blue Sea and a big wire going to battery. I'd think you would need some extra slack built in. I should have it by...
Sorry, I should have specified this was more to get an idea of where folks with gen 2 or 2.5 Monteros wedged the fuse box since space is so tight. I've installed one before, but in a 4runner there is a lot more room as I was able to build a bracket to hold 4 relays and the blue sea fuse box in...
Anyone ever mounted another fuse box in the engine to deal with accessories? I realized that an intermittent starting problem was due to a broken(ok, not completely broken yet) positive lead to the battery. As I was looking in the engine bay I noticed that all the extra wires, fuses, and relays...
BTW-if you find OEM skids you can always re-enforce them with angle iron. One of my local friends w/ a Gen 2, was looking at the transfer case skid that "KIRK" built and copied the idea for re-enforcing the front two skids. Have them installed but haven't tested them yet.
A little tough to...
Started replacing my driver side CV joint/axle. Went well until I needed three hands to get the steering knuckle/hub/brake disk back bolted up. Waiting for my buddy to come over. :sombrero:
Installed skid plates and replaced broken grill
Bolted up the new skids and replaced the cracked broken plastic grill with a piece of expanded metal.
Also noticed the majority of my driver side inboard CV boot is gone. Whoops, looks like it is tie for a new axle, probably been like that for...
I think I have this going on with my 98. It does have OME shocks. Started sounding like I had a loose body panel or something. My buddy hopped in the truck with me yesterday and after the first "boom" he looked at me and said something to the effect of "What are you special? That is coming from...
