Looks great, congrats. We have a ton of info over at ih8mud, check it out, if you haven't already.

    1968 Chevy K10 SWB Overlander

No, you can run single, but the Y pipe needs to be a certain length before it merges. Also, more info on your efi? Pics?

    1968 Chevy K10 SWB Overlander

Unfortunately, I do not have any dyno numbers, but I can tell you the basic physics behind it (this is over simplified). Firing order is 153624... when the number 1 exhaust valve opens, it releases it's energy into the single exhaust manifold. Number 5 fires next, but number 1 has not yet left...

    1968 Chevy K10 SWB Overlander

The dual manifold will help everywhere, including top end. Your top speed, as you probably know, is also limited by gearing. The stock exhaust manifold feeds all six cylinders into one pipe. From both a gas flow and wave tuning view, it's not so good, but it serves the purpose GM intended...

    1968 Chevy K10 SWB Overlander

Inline six cylinder engines like two exhaust manifolds, one for cylinders 1 - 3, and the second for 4 - 6. This eliminates the interference of the exhaust pulses, which really kill off the power. I can elaborate a bit more on that, if you would like. Look at any decent inline six and you find...

    RRS to 4Runner

FWIW, the Lexus GX 460 is essentially a V8 4-Runner. The nose on the 2014+ is a little much, though.

    1968 Chevy K10 SWB Overlander

Do you have the stock exhaust manifold on there? It's a very large bottleneck on this engine.

    Land Cruiser over Tacoma

The 200 is a great machine. Drive one and you will find out why. Roomy, plenty of power, and very capable off road.

The Fake Jeep Not a Real Cruiser Thread

IMO/IME, get an additional oil to air cooler for the transmission, an oil cooler for the engine would be a good idea, too. At minimum, please check the trans fluid condition (which is not easy).

My first Land Cruiser need advice.

The 3FE is an old push rod engine that was updated with efi. The 1FZ is similar to the series of BMW S and M engines you reference. If it has not been mentioned, the 8/92 and up build has a full floating rear axle.

Snow Tires or Highway Tires for a x-country trip with my Forester

If you decide to buy another tire, check out the Nokian WR G3. It's an "all weather", made to run year round, carry's the snowflake symbol even. Last year, I had a set installed on my mother's Lexus RX 350, and can vouch for their being a great all a rounder.... admirable snow performance...

    Choosing a landcruiser

Welcome. What do you have budgeted for just the vehicle? Your Taco is likely worth low to mid 20's. The 100 Series 98 - 2007 is a great truck, but if you can swing it, the 2008 and up 200 Series is also a nice option.

Solve This Mystery? 1991 Toyota Townace 'Super Extra' did we get these in the U.S.?

An awesome under-appreciated vehicle, but as mentioned, rare. No super skylights on the USA versions. Quite capable due to a short wheelbase, manual transmission, the rear 4 link solid axle, and the real transfer case with high/low range. Some have a cold box that can make ice. If I recall...

    2nd Generation Tundra Building

Long story short... while sitting in the driveway last year, water found its way into the engine... this was due to an oversight on my part. The engine needs to come out... so it has been placed on the back burner.

    Tow Vehicle Recommendations

What's your budget? New, used? The Tundra is great vehicle. The 2008 and up Land Cruiser has the same driveline, and will fit in tighter spaces.

    harrop elocker group buy

I've considered them in the past, but ultimately still prefer the factory Toyota lockers. FWIW, the stock LSD in your Taco can be rebuilt to give much more bite and durability.

Tundra or Tacoma - future camper hauler???

The Tacoma is a great truck, but IME, the 4.0L leaves a bit to be desired when loaded up. The 1UR V8 4.6L would've been a great optional engine for it. The Tundra is fantastic platform.

My 2014 Land Cruiser aka Urban Bruiser

A quick Porsche story you guys might appreciate. My brother and I just picked up this 2014 for my 76 year old father, we're giving it to him Thursday, he does't know. His Porsche love affair began in the early 60's when my great uncle (mother's side) loaned his 356 to my dad for a month. My...

Toyota Dyna 4x4 from factory (same as Hino)

I don't know what they use for the t-case, the engine and transmission options are different over in SE Aisa. The front axle appears to be the same unit as the rear, but with knuckles. Dodge uses the same Aisin Transmission in their HD 3500 trucks, which can be had with an NV271 transfer case...
