I suspect the Prado bumpers and snorkel will be adaptable w/o serious issue... but until someone actually does it, it is still?? The US distributors might bring the stuff in? Gears, lockers, shocks, etc should all be easy.

The 3rd gen 2014 Tundra is scheduled to debut next month at the Chicago Auto Show, so I doubt the Taco will have any big news(?).

You are fine here, the Tundra is based on the 200 Series Land Cruiser, so IMO opinion, it qualifies (some will argue this). Toyota placed the washer reservoir where the second battery tray to lives. Interest is low, so I never got very far with a kit offering for this area. A washer reservoir...

T-TT-0152-11 is for the 11/12 trucks and says the crack is superficial. I don't have the older TSB #, I will try to find it.

Toyota now builds many of the "lifetime parts" much less expensively on the USA models, the frame is the best example of it. What imeadiately comes out of it is the not as good as it should be ride quality. That also plays into the plastic bed, many of them crack in normal driving situations...

Toyota is marketing/building more towards our throw away society here in the USA. The bad ride quality comes from the frame... The open frame Tacoma is almost as bad as the 2nd Gen Tundra. Fortunately, a good load in the bed seems to dampen much of it away.

Snorkel gaps....

Working on completing the rear suspension.

The air bag light is currently on due to the seats. A resistor in the harness will likely shut it off. The snorkel will bolt onto the truck, it lines up up nicely with some of the body lines, but there are gaps in a few places. Some heat was applied to rear of the snorkel to soften it and help...

The Hilux is offered with the 1GR V6. It also has a properly boxed frame... a very big difference IMO.

The front KDSS sway bar has been sucessfully transplanted, the bracket (surrounds the hydraulic cylinder w/ boot) fits the frame like a glove.

Good comparison. Full size rigs will fit a lot more places than many folks think. I recommend looking at a 07 and up Tundra. Much beefier in key areas.

DI versions of the 1GR-FE have been in Lexus vehicles since about 2006. The 4GR-FSE (2.5L V6) is straight DI, and the 2GR-FSE (3.5 V6) runs a dual port and DI system. I'd be surprised if Toyota has a completely new 4 cylinder, more likely a 2TR-FE with DI.
