Four Wheel Camper Electrical Basics and Switching to Lithium!

For comparison, I have a National Luna DC Powerpack with a 100ah Battleborn. The DCDC charger is rated at 25 amps. NL provides a 20 foot 6mm (between 5 and 6 awg) cable to run from the starter battery into the box where the DCDC lives. To which I added another 6 feet of 6awg due to my run...

    Refillable 1 Lb Propane Bottles

I would like to use these, but when I researched them a little over a year ago, I found that FlameKing, who made the ones available at the time, had a massive recall sometime prior to 2020 for safety issues. I also found a number of peoples comments about using these and having the valves leak...

10L "Jerry can", 11L Dometic "Go Hydration" or Rotopax for water?

We still really like this setup for outdoor use, but needed an additional ~2.5 gal capacity so bought a Dometic Go and the faucet on sale this summer. On our last trip, we used the Dometic faucet on about 5’ of 1/4” tubing for inside water on our cabinet with a collapsable sink. Worked well...

OVRLND CAMPERS ONLY : Post your OVRLND Camper build here or a link to your build thread to inspire others!

Inside, it connects to a semi-flexible corrugated steel line to the heater. Its pretty simple. Works fine fot the external tank. Easy to connect and robust. Let me know if you want some pics as installed. Don’t have any on hand and since its 112° out, I’m not going out today for pictures, but...

Looking for a custom aluminum box for trailer tongue

Make your own! Boxes are easy. Some sheet aluminum, aluminum angle, some bedding sealant and or VHB and some rivets and hinges. You can easily cut aluminum with a circular saw. A one weekend project under $100 maybe a bit more depending on size.

Gladiator Pop-Up Pass Through Camper Build

Wow, thats remarkable. Think the last time I tried Yellowstone was about 10 years ago and it was so nuts then we just turned around and went elsewhere. Glad you’re getting a better experience! Maybe the tide is turning?

    Good article in Outside.

You know I did wonder about that. Just points out the further downside to over modding rigs (especially incorrectly or not taking structural limitations into account) beyond just the added weight

Tire Repair kits & Backwoods repairs

I recently had only my 2nd offroad flat which I repaired with a plug (not easily, I might add. Load E tires are a lot tougher to ream and plug than the load C’s I’ve done before). When I got back, I went to Discount Tire where I bought the tires (Cooper XLT AT3s) thinking they could demount...

    Good article in Outside.

No arguments with any of the comments, and the article makes lot of good points, but this comment is out to lunch AND raises an important point: "Driving down a simple dirt road of the kind accessible to Subarus and similar, its frame bent in half and the engine blew." I’ve seen all the...

    For packing clothing...

Yeah, it’s not that deep, but I am always amazed how much it holds. My wife and I pack all our clothes in it including some bulkier cold weather sleep wear and other misc nighttime stuff we want handy, but put our heavy pants, pile pullovers, jackets, etc in another soft sided zip bag in the...

    Male Cigarette Plugs

I agree, it’s not a great cig plug. I was interested in it for the Hella connection since I do have a Hella outlet available on my NL DCDC Powerpack. It does have a very secure physical connection to the Hella outlet. However, in the end I just hardwired my ARB wiring loom (the 10 guage, 10...
