I haven't put my rtt on mine yet but I use it for my hard top.
The platform gives it a lot more rigidity, I wouldn't use it with out it.
No modification needed, it comes with am attachment to put in your drill chuck!
I roll mine around in the garage, the tongue jack has a wheel on it so you don't have to pick the tongue up.
If you have a trailer you can meet the truck at the nearest shipping hub and they'll put it on the trailer for you.
Looks great, this'll be my next project. This weekend is making an extension on the front of the rack to support my tent that was starting to sag. I also added some angle on the bottom of the rack to store a table. What are you going to do with the other swing, wanna send it to Texas?

Question, how do you cinch down the tent with the annex attached? I've got a CVT Mount Rainier Extended. I bought a rail off of amazon, much cheaper than from CVT, sorry CVT but $40 plus $40 shipping for a rail is a bit to much of a mark up. I installed it last night and slid the annex in...
Maybe it is more of a drag issue, its perfectly fine in town and up to 50mph or so. And the tent does stick up taller than my jeep. I will eventually be adding fuel and a battery so well see how more weight affects it.
Man I wish I could travel for months at a time!
Mine is a '12 so I've got the 285hp 3.6L. I haven't looked up dyno charts but figuring for 15%-20% drivetrain loss should be around 230-240. That said its still working hard to maintain 70mph on the hilly roads here in east Texas lightly loaded. I still don't have a battery yet and only had 12...
Midnightsun, Looking good!
I did a little playing around on the computer at lunch working on a concept like Silverback07's idea for a rear swing out. Its got a 2x6 under the back of the trailer sticking out 4" on the sides and 4" out the back. The passenger side would get a spindle with a...
CVT mt Rainer, I need to extend my rack like you did. I've got too much overhang in the front and the floor deflects pretty bad with any weight in the front corner.
I ran power into the tent this past weekend. There is plenty of room at the corner where the tent folds, but it takes careful planning and a lot of zip ties to run it where it won't get pinched but have plenty of slack. I ran an 18" long led tape light and a dual usb plug with a voltage readout...
