Yeah a Hannibal would be a great choice but I think he would like to find some thing used to save a few $$ and could make it work. I will see what his budget range is.
Larry, what rack would he order for a DII if he wanted a Frontrunner, the 1.4m?
My buddy is looking for a rack for his DII. He is a photographer and wants to make it a platform to shoot from so something full length like an SD should work.
My buddy is looking for a rack for his 00 DII. He is a photographer and wants to build a platform to shoot from the rack so something like a SD or similar full length rack should work. We are in eastern NC.
I'll look about for a copy, thanks. One thing I am spoiled for when I hunt in SC is good processors that are very close. There are 4-5 processors within 20 minutes of the farm I hunt so it is not necessary to field dress, just load it up and drop it off.
If yours is like the 94 I had the rust in the back is probably from the rear door leaking. Will Tillery (roverguy) usually has DII door seals that are twice the thickness of the DI seals. I switched mine out and instantly noticed much less wind noise and better door sealing.
Does Tata own Mehindra? If so I'm wondering if they are positioning LR even more up market in hopes of building Mehindra as the utility brand to compete against Toyota (good luck).
I also miss the real Banana Republic and A & F, Mark. About the only one left is Filson and there is more and more...
I hear you brother.... I have also noticed that the visibility can not be good from the Evoque and I can not see it as a real off road choice, so has Tata made the choice to take LR out of the market that made it a legend? It would appear so to me and that is sad. We can't get a 70 series Troopy...
My Safety Devices "tall" rack uses a rain gutter mount and I have not had a problem with the mounts getting loose. You could always use ny-lock nuts or lok-tite to add strength.
I have a feeling the constant search for bit and pieces will be a big part of the fun of owning an early SI, sort of like a never ending safari so be sure to have your pith helmet close by!
I'm registered and paid, can't wait. As for drives, it used to be a 5-5:30 drive for me in the IIa (at a whopping 50 mph top end!) so I'm looking forward to cutting that by at least two hours in the DI. I will admit I'll miss going through all the small towns as I used to take only 2 lane rural...
You said that right Bill, not a lot of good shops around here but I can find some 1oz load 16 ga shells. Good to hear the gauge is gaining back some popularity, it is a great all rounder.
Now wouldn't that be something if Fiat decides to bring the massive over here to sell as Jeep's. I kind of doubt it as it would compete with the Wrangler but that as that is essentially a Defender copy tjat could be an interesting choice.
Are you looking for something to watch while on the trainer?? I like the DVD's of major races like the Giro or TdF, the footage of the Paris Robaix are always good as well, especially the Sean Kelly years.
