Welcome to the world of roadies! I started riding/racing when I was 12 and raced heavily until my early 20's, I now just ride for fitness and fun. There are few better ways to clear your mind than a good ride. As for the sore throat, is there an allergen in your area that is blooming? Be careful...
I've got my Grandfathers LC Smith 16 side by side from the late 30's or early 40's. He ordered it to accept "the new" 2 3/4 shells, featherweight chassis, monte carlo stock, semi-beaver tail forend, single trigger (r-l) and 3/4 chock on the right open on the left. I've just had some work done on...
That's the plan, run it right in crook of the snorkel where it rest along the pillar and down to the cowl.
To the OP-it's clear you'll now need a snorkel to make this easy, funny how that works.:snorkel:
I'm not sure if you've found this site yet but blue ridge rover works in Asheville always has running series trucks. He also has fully restored show pieces but there are usually some mild project trucks that can be driven and enjoyed as you go. Sean Jones is the contact. www.blueridgeroverworks.com
The most common set up I've seen is to place a flex tube over the wires and run that down the windshield A pillar. If you had to take off your factory rails to fit the rack you could also use one of those existing holes to run the wires under into the cabin, this seems like too much of a leak...
Dale (Rover Barn) doesn't really deal in Series trucks, his area is more in the Special Vehicles and ultra clean models of newer offerings. I think I bought the ladt series he had which came to him as part of a trade. Red Mountain Rovers in AL have the occasional series but they aren't focused...
I am surprised that alpine windows were left off the concept vehicle. I see that the roof has a small step to it so if alpine windows were added it would help tie in the old and new. The roof step could also be enlarged to help the design, as Dendy mentioned one of the great aspect of LR's is...
I hear you on wanting to drop in at the local bowl but I also read that you're trying to hold on to everything you can finacially. Not to be a downer but the medical bills associated with riding bowls at our age would be too helpful with the bills. That said I think a hybrid MTB migth be the...
Old English is a pretty well thought of dealer, they do a lot of consignment works as well so give them a call and see whats what. As you have probably learned the two biggies are the chassis and bulkheads. This is ex-mod but it doesn't say where it was used. The MOD like any military are know...
A buddy of mine has something similar on his Defender. His is part of a swing away spare carrier so the weight isn't on the door. I don't know for sure but I think his is from Mantec.
I am also not inspired by the concept, I just can't see that on the African savannah or bounding along the outback. The Land Cruiser 70 series is both modern and classic an still rugged enough for the third world which is why Toyota has taken that market from Land Rover. What makes the Defender...
I came darn close to tarping the DI during the Hurricane. Due to the low height of my garage door it does no fit inside so it rode out the storm with the rest of the cars. Luckily only some pine tassells got blown onto the cars and no damage to the house. I did get to do some storm driving when...
I believe to vortex principle is what feeds the air into the mantec snorkle, mine is the same way. It is also (IMHO) the cleanest snorkle set up for disco's
Looking at the low. sloped roof line and what looks like wide pillars at the corners I'm think the Evoque has nasty blind spots and unfortunately will lack the wonderful airy cabin and great sight lines that LR have done better than others for so long. I haven't seen any MPG figures but with a...
Speaking as the prior owner of a 64 IIa and current owner of a well modded DI it doesn't appeal to me. I does fit with the current LR line up which is very luxury specific and some what "blingy". LR have paid attention to the upper market since they released the first Range Rover which makes...
